DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I was going to say wasn't Sam on drugs as well lol? Anyway, they really didn't play the fallout between Sam/Marlena or Sam's psychological issues enough. I know it was drugs influencing her, but that's some crazy scheme she pulled. A year later wasn't Sam living her best life as a successful actress? I have often thought it was short-sighted to kill Sam off so early in Marlena's run. I think the Strangler story is really good, but think of all the stories Sam could have been involved with over the years. And Marlena never got any other family aside from a cousin that got killed off as well. Idk, seems like a waste of potential.

I am glad I am not the only one who has huge issues with the Sam/Marlena switch. They are obviously twins, but you can literally tell them apart. The whole story is just implausible. I get it was cool because Deidre had a twin IRL, but c'mon, I doubt Sam could have pulled off such an elaborate scheme. It made everyone, especially Don, look ridiculous. Sam and Marlena were fine by the time Sam died. They had long since reconciled. I assume they wouldn't have named a twin after her if she hadn't died. Eric Brady, Sr. molestation stuff wasn't known until after the twins were born.

😍 Back when Marlena/John were super hot and dead sexy. Poor Roman! Your wife actually prefers your imposter to you. The Affair is probably my favorite Days story of all time. Yeah, I am not going to judge her entire character on one person's assessment of her, especially someone who only worked with her briefly.

I want to say Deidre had nice things to say about her when she passed, so I think they got along. The internet is not giving me evidence to back this up, but I remember her saying kind words about her. You know how co-workers are. I don't get a long with everyone I work with, but that doesn't mean they are bad people. I just don't like them lol. I am sure MF was fine.

GH April 2021 Discussion
That makes sense. PC had good ideas: bringing back Scott and Karen, the initial interns, etc. but it never felt like a true GH spin off. Just a show that took place in the same building. It tried too hard to be glossy and fresh and it fell flat to me. I think the ingredients were there but the execution wasn't. I think it may have been better to have a show peripherally tied to GH like Labine's show. Ryan's Hope meets Bensonhurst. And people from GH could come in and out, but it wouldn't be so tied to GH like PC was. Where the events had to line up until, obviously, the show went off the rails into arcs... Idk, I could see that crashing and burning too because I wasn't terribly intrigued with Lois's 17 brothers or whatever, but I think it had the chance to be more interesting. I just love Labine's GH years as depressing as they were. I would have loved to have seen more.

GH April 2021 Discussion
I am okay with Kevin/Lucy leading a spin off, I just wonder if another couple would have worked better. Ned/Lois were more popular I think. And, assuming Rena stayed, it would have been an easier way for some of the power players of the late 90's-Sonny/Jax/Brenda and the Q's to cross over more frequently. Though I imagine I would have tired of Lois's extended Bensonhurst clan. Anyhow, I don't even know much about the Labine spin off so I could be wrong about it. I think the Kevin/Lucy/Serena/Christina stuff was fanfic as well. It seems unlikely they were setting Kevin/Lucy up for that much story. They were barely used.

I totally forgot that Duke stuff. I just remember Kevin disappeared for awhile and they were divorced when he came back. Kevin/Lucy were one of my favorite pairings in the 90's, although they were more comic relief most of the time. I would take them over Laura/Kevin or even Felicia/Mac. I often wonder how wise it was to make Kevin/Lucy the leads of a spin off. They were both great actors, but were more B characters and a B coupling. I would love to know the thought process behind choosing Lucy and Kevin specifically. I wonder if the Labine Ned/Lois spinoff would have done better.

GH April 2021 Discussion
Lucy and Kevin were married when they first re-appeared in 2013. They had the whole Lucy thinks John McBain is a vampire stuff and I believe Kevin and Lucy were estranged. Then Lucy had an affair with Scotty and Kevin and Lucy divorced by the time Kevin came back a year or so later. The last time they really acknowledged Kevin/Lucy was a few years ago at the beginning of the Ryan stuff. Idk, I figure it all was dropped for Laura/Kevin because GH doesn't care to play Lucy/Kevin. It would require more airtime. My first thought is they might possibly re-pair Alexis/Ned? Their one night stand came out of nowhere, and he was so prominent in that episode yesterday. It's weird they hardly touched the Sexis stuff. It's a big part of Alexis's history.

Not an actual date, but she first showed up when Marlena/Kristen were in the secret room. She was looking for Susan because she got a weird message/phone call saying Susan was married to John. Then Vivian and Ivan interacted with her in her convent because they thought she was Susan. Thomas didn't show up until after everything was revealed and he/Susan/Sister Mary were trying to stop Kristen from stealing EJ in late 1997.

GH April 2021 Discussion
The fact that they are 2 nice people that are basically normal for a soap and just love their kid is boring!!! I guess I can see the appeal but neither actor is great, they have no chemistry or heat, and they are literally the equivalent of watching paint dry. Willow is a lost cause. She looks bland, she acts bland, she's not connected to anyone, and I wouldn't miss her for a second if she was gone. Michael should be better. CD had potential when he started, but it's all gone downhill. They should bring RAGEMichael Drew Garrett back. I looked him up and he's pretty hot now and it's not like he's had much acting work. Actually, they could just make DG Morgan and call it a day.

GH April 2021 Discussion
Agree to disagree. I don't consider her a daytime superstar, but I do think she is a great actress. She does excel in pretty much everything she is given, but she's not given that much. I have to say she is supporting to me. She has definitely had years where she has had major stories, but she has also had a lot of time doing little to nothing or in a very B story. She's never had a breakout pairing. I don't know. I would consider Julia on SB the role that made her famous and Alexis is just a role she's played longer. Don't get me wrong, I am fine with her getting an episode for Alexis as opposed to the usual suspects (Jason/Sonny/Sam/Carly), but I guess I just don't see why Alexis deserves one when many other characters anniversaries were ignored. In the scheme of things I have no problem with it, but I definitely think it's strange.

AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
I don't think him and RB are great or anything. But it would make sense. Yeah, CM has sort of an Ingo/Jax feel. Can lead stories, but are mostly handsome and bland. I mean he is too old, but he's only 4 years older than GV, so the show was already stretching it. JJ is about to turn 39, JY is 41, GV is 47, so that already puts GF having Lucky in her teens regardless.

AMC Alum Joins General Hospital
He definitely doesn't have a JJ vibe, but he does have a GV Lucky vibe. I don't think he's any worse than JY or GV as Lucky in theory. And if they want to bring RB back it would make sense to set up a Hayden/Liz/Lucky triangle. If JJ isn't willing to come back, Lucky is necessary on the show. Especially without Lulu. I'd rather that than Ryan. Even though I loathe Ryan, at the end of the day CM is a handsome, likable actor. Nothing amazing, but nothing awful. Ryan was awful. CM really wasn't.

It does seem odd they are giving Alexis a special episode. NLG is popular, but she's not TG or GF or even MB or SBu. It's a great achievement, but it's not like Alexis has driven that many stories in 25 years lol. She's had stories, but she's definitely more supporting than a lead IMO. There are loads of characters on the show that have been on it longer that have never gotten anniversary episodes. I'd be annoyed if NLG kept 'status quo' just because she got her own episode, though. It kind of goes against everything she always standing up for on social media.

Could he be playing Lucky? I know he's quite a bit older than JJ, but he's only a few years older than GV. I would storm ABC studios if he was playing Ryan again. Out of all the characters to spend money on......

Sort of changing the topic, I am watching early Roman/Marlena and I love them! WN/DH are fabulous together. They lack the passionate chemistry the DH's ended up having, but they are adorable. Roman is so wonderful to Marlena after Sam's death. WN is charming as hell. I don't know what happened in the 90's. Also, Anna's intro is ridiculous. "White slavery"? What? I can't even picture LH's Anna falling for WN's Roman. Glad they moved her on quickly.

Steve Olson is literally an entire missed opportunity of a character. What happened to him? Her stuff with Alex was not good. And the swipes MF's Mary would take at Marie, Marlena, etc. were just so annoying. MF's Mary seemed very vapid and honestly looked like Marie's contemporary. It's not that MF was old, per se, she just looked very mature. And who would run after evil Alex when Chris was hanging around? JT could definitely still get it in 1982 which is gross for me to say lol.

Thank you so much. I guess they could bring Melissa back to run it, but she seems to inept to be in charge of a company like that. Melissa would be a nice addition with Jennifer and Hope gone. Does Melissa have any other kids besides Nathan that could run it? From what I can tell Chris became a lawyer and disappeared basically, so there was no reason lol. Everything I have seen of JT's Chris I have liked. He's so charismatic. What happened? I think Chris was just never married because he never had a really popular love interest. Except Savannah, I guess. I think he was just a swinging bachelor and it actually did fit his character.

Didn't Chris have a patent for something that was super important for Anderson? I thought it was more of an engineering/technology manufacturing company not textiles lol, but I am sure that could easily be changed. Who would you bring back? Melissa? Who would run Anderson? Some long lost Bob Anderson kid/grand kid? It's so obscure that I don't think anyone would care, but it could be a nice nod to the past.

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
Ron would do that. Didn't they kill most of the Anderson's off? Casualties of writing regime changes I guess. I think if they found a different actress to play Mary she would have lasted longer. They always could have given her a long lost child, but by 1982 all traces of Anderson Manufacturing were gone. How would you have resurrected them? They don't seem like a terribly popular family or anything.

That would make sense. I kept wondering why he was around so much and why he was the first person to find Marlena after the rape. I thought it meant something. I don't know if I find him off-putting in these clips, which are Marlena-centric, but I find him out of place. He just seems like a run of the mill, bland, soap hunk. I wouldn't say there was great chemistry between Joshua and Marlena, but I thought he was very kind to her after the rape and a good friend. I just kept thinking Marlena has a lot of other friends, so where are they? I don't understand why Jessica/Joshua were popular. Jessica was lame. At least they created an exciting son (until he was ruined). On the show, did it say if Jessica/Josh were still together when Nick arrived?
