  1. A very lengthy article on another Twitter alum speaks of building another social media platform, this time incorporating a decentralized system, which I have yet to figure out whether this would be a force for good or for ill. https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaeldelcastillo/2022/09/11/jack-dorseys-former-boss-is-building-a-decentralized-twitter/?sh=6b2414d357c3
  2. Still hoping for a microblogging platform called “Chirp”.
  3. Well, damn.
  4. Oh and lest some think many of us are being too sensitive-
  5. Slightly OT,but why are these folks always tagging the daytime soaps? 🤦🏾‍♀️ One look and you will see why I put this in the Y&R thread. https://www.cnet.com/tech/home-entertainment/this-strange-tv-feature-makes-everything-look-like-a-soap-opera/?ftag=CAD767ae48
  6. Aren’t they charging for an edit button? No way in hell would I ever be paying for that!
  7. Musk knew he was going to lose that court case, so this is definitely the business equivalent of a “shotgun wedding”, so to speak. The firings are likely a combination of ideological differences and acting out of sheer pettiness. It will be interesting to see right-wingers try to goad libs and the “woke” into staying because without them what’s left, a Parler/TruthSocial dumpster fire, devoid of creativity, humor and overall intelligence? Musk was already begging those people to stay on the platform six months ago because he likely knows that without those people, advertisers and any aspirations for a profitable platform go out the window.
  8. Didn’t Josh G. write a story for Sharon that had this explanation at its core? Some years ago during his previous stint, I remember in some interview, he explained some upcoming story for Sharon as having romance at its center then proceeded to drive Sharon into madness. It was highly offensive.
  9. Oh. So you felt like this was preordained? I have watched some of JG’s writing on screen in the past and it seemed as if he sort of liked to pull things out of desperation. That’s not to say that it was never fully “earned” but it often seemed like, when all else failed, he would resort to the most desperate of measures and the execution wasn’t often convincing.
  10. Even though I no longer watch this show, from a writer’s perspective, I am fascinated by the motivation for making Chelsea suicidal. Had she been having ideations before she took to the roof? We’re there signs of depression before? Were there several leading incidents that made viewers really believe that this would happen? No way am I defending any perceived callousness toward a suicidal person but it sounds like a number of people are not buying into this. Whether because of the performance or due to the writing and that’s a problem.
  11. No problem. Hey, I only remembered about 4pm today, so who am I to judge?
  12. Hm, this seems to have been rescheduled to November 2nd. Still at 2pm EST.
  13. That sounds accurate.
  14. The NYPost got hacked. Apparently their website and Twitter account had a flood of racist and vile content. How did people actually figure out that they were hacked? Spewing racist and vile vitriol seems like a regular news day for them.🤷🏾‍♀️
  15. Hopefully Jessica can grab hold of the conversation but otherwise it would be nice to hear what she’s been up to. People talk about her Alison to Kaba’s Aaron but I thought she had really nice chemistry with Jesse Lee Soffer, it was actually stronger imo.
  16. Has anyone interviewed this man about how he got into this field of work? He knows his stuff and sounds like he would be interesting to talk to regarding his process and whether any archives and restoration organizations have contacted him. Soap bloggers, especially those into classic and canceled soaps should want to talk to him.
  17. I know that some corners of Tennis Twitter used to guffaw and make insinuations about the nature of Cahill and Halep’s relationship but clearly, they do have a bond, which tends not to be the norm in the WTA, at least it doesn’t tend to be where non-familial coaching relationships are concerned.
  18. I have never been a fan by any stretch of the imagination but when accused, it seems to be a standard line of defense to deny. Sharapova’s case was an interesting case, though, because initially, she did admit culpability, before reversing her stance. Speaking of Sharapova, her fans appear to be very salty at what they view as kid glove treatment of Halep in comparison to what they regard as brutal treatment of their fave.
  19. BBC came up with the title (not me). https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20221018-are-soaps-in-danger-of-extinction?ocid=ww.social.link.twitter
  20. I was being facetious when I posed this question but apparently Pam Shriver decided to run with this theory. I would have had a bit more respect for her on this had she just blamed the tortellini.
  21. Is anyone surprised by this?
  22. Speaking of things that we don’t seem to hear much about-
  23. So who’s “Simo” gonna blame…Patrick?
