  1. FYI. Not sure this will be the 1979 epis that have currently been airing on Retro. A few days ago they had tried to back away from their earlier statement that they were going to livestream. This is a different time than the tv broadcast usually airs.
  2. I read on FB that Audrey Peters died last summer. Her son posted about it on his page at the time.
  3. Maybe Toni (Anna Stuart) and Alan (Gil Gerard), though they would seem fairly tame to modern viewers.
  4. Daily TV Serials printed some letters it received re the Val/David story. Even the few that were fit to print took me aback. Some were positive too though.
  5. I think she and Julie's father were gone by the end of 1965. Addie returned in 1971 after Ben died (off-screen). Doug and Julie were in the midst of their affair but few people knew about it. Addie hired a private detective to investigate Doug. Then she fell for him herself.
  6. The free livestream of Retro TV is now up and I'm not having any streaming issues with that. The 1979 episodes air at noon Eastern Time, Mon.-Fri. The 1969 episodes air on Sat., at 3-4 pm Eastern Time, and the 1974 episodes air on Sunday, 1-3 pm Eastern Time. https://www.myretrotv.com/watch
  7. The Retro rep posts and answers questions on Daytime Royalty in The Doctors thread, if anyone wants to contact her.
  8. If you go to My Account on the website, there is a section at the bottom for customer service where you can report this too.
  9. If you have Roku, the app is now available. Search "Watch the Doctors" in the channel store. However, I'm having the same buffering issues that are a problem on the website. I've told the person from Retro who has been updating us on Facebook. She implied it was an internet speed issue but I have no issues with any other streaming services that I have. I told her that others are having the same problem. She said she will pass the info to the technical people.
  10. For what it's worth, the website is just a preview right now. It's supposed to be fully functional on this Thursday (Feb. 27). Hoping it will work better at that time. I've been told that Retro is aware of the buffering issue.
  11. One of the first records I had as a child was the 45 of "Quentin's Theme." "#1 at the Blue Whale," was on the B side.
  12. I didn't find him particularly interesting. The only memory that stands out is when he beat up Eric when he thought he had raped Susan. You can see a bit of him here, starting around 2:36, from 1976.
  13. Composer Bob Cobert has died.
  14. @Brolden There would not have been an NCAA basketball pre-emption in 1956. The tournament was held in March and the show premiered in April.
  15. Oh good, I didn't try it yet!
  16. The website for The Doctors subscription service is up. So far, it only has the 1967-1970 episodes that already aired on Retro TV. The price is 2.99 per month, or 30.99 per year. Guess it will be active starting February 27. https://watchthedoctors.com/home The Retro representative posted this elsewhere. Set in the fictional New England city of Madison, The Doctors was known for featuring cutting-edge storylines and received seventeen Emmy Award nominations. The series ran for 20 seasons with cast alums including Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), daytime stars Kim Zimmer (Guiding Light) and Anna Stuart (Another World), Ted Danson (Cheers), Kathleen Turner (Peggy Sue Got Married) and Emmy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Hubbard (As the World Turns).
  17. From July 1973, interview with script writer Bill Rega.
  18. I can't believe they had Carolee ask Steve who could have sent them that crow's foot. Umm, how about the crazy cult you've been dealing with the last few days, lol. This story seems extra-strange when it's being told alongside the whole death-with-dignity thing they've been doing with Sarah's death.
  19. Latest update from Retro re streaming and the app.
  20. You're welcome! It was interesting that they only taped ten days in advance back then. The story re having Addie killed in an accident rather than from leukemia has changed over the years though. Apparently, Patricia Barry had leaked the news of Addie's death from leukemia to a columnist friend of hers and the show received backlash from her fans. Supposedly, Bill Bell had Addie killed instantly, with no death scene, to keep her from having time to do the same thing six months later.
  21. Article re taping Addie Williams funeral, from July 1974.
  22. @slick jonesI found an article from March 1991 that says he had just finished taping his AMC role. The article also mentioned he had already been on Loving in a non-speaking role but I don’t know whether that was the same as the one you have listed.
  23. Joe had a brief role as a doctor on Days; I believe in 1968.
  24. Yes, he wanted Julie, and he wanted to pair Tony with Marlena.
