Lea is nice and quirky, but she will cut a bitch down. Heather is mincemeat.

"The Conners" Discussion Thread
I have a feeling Darlene in this reboot will be a lot more like how Sara Gilbert is in real life.. as opposed to how Darlene in the original series was like a complete 180 from Sara Gilbert in real life..imho. Here are some early reviews... https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/roseanne-review-abc-revival-almost-125716288.html https://www.courierpostonline.com/story/life/tv/2018/03/09/review-new-roseanne-exactly-what-youd-expect-better-worse/406578002/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/merrillbarr/2018/03/09/roseanne-season-10-review-john-goodman-roseanne-barr-conner-abc/#3acdf0f010c8

I guess Kelly and Shannon are living it up as two single girls.. according to instagram. Looks like OC is looking to be a lighter season.. thus far.

We got rid of Brandi only to find someone just as toxic. She ruins BH for me like Meghan McCain ruins the View.

All My Children Tribute Thread
The teen bought on in 1995 started being phased out in mid 1997 with both Bobby/Anita leaving to go to college... then Gillian was added to play against Scott/Laura/Kelsey/Kevin.. but by 1998. Laura was written out and Kevin vanished as well.. and finally Kelsey left and I believe Scott did to by 1999... and Gillian stayed till like 2001 when she was killed off. While this teen set didn't compare to the heyday of the early 80s... they were a fairly strong set and way better then the shows late attempts in the 2000s.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
As July 1975 comes to a conclusion... there is a lot of change/transition to the canvas.. with an interesting emphasis on one plot per episode it seems. -I guess Lauri has left the show without any good bye scenes or anything.. with her on screen husband Hank stuck as the sounding board for Mike. -Oddly, I like Armand Assante as Mike.. more then I would have thought. He certainly has the hotheadness, stubborness, and one track mind obsession of the previous long term Mike (the other actor that Armand replaced seemed too laid back and sedate so I get why the recast was done). -MJ had a nice introduction.. she's kind of like Carolee of old.. yet is her own character.. and her/Penny as potential friends and roommates looks promising (especially the scene where the two eye roll over drippy Stacy). -Stacy.. I guess writers even back in the 70s created goody goody's that made you sick to your stomach. I'm almost rooting for Penny to make her life miserable.. and I don't think that was what the Pollack's had in mind. -Ann... I'm liking the gradual change in her character from the sweet, mild mannered ex flame of Steve to a more bitter/neurotic version of the character. Already we've had Maggie, Matt, and Althea note the change in Ann.. even though Ann was right on the money in regards to Nick/Althea. I have a feeling had the Pollock's stayed on.. the change in her character would have continued to be more gradual.. but 1976 will be a watershed year for this character. -Karen/Carolee/Steve Loaded with history... situations from 1967/1968 still are referenced in 1975 especially any scene Karen has with Maggie or Matt.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I truly think Marland wanted to rewrite history in order to create conflict between Bob/Kim/Barbara/Frannie without really thinking of a strong character for Sabrina that extended beyond the reveal and fall out. If he were smart, he would have had Sabrina be more aggressive, but disguise herself as this meek British girl that was a symbol of the Hughes family ire... but had Sabrina really be a vixen... and be more aggressive with stealing Seth from Frannie.. and having more fire/edge then what was written/acted. It seemed like Marland was trying to do it.. but the execution didn't work. Or I would have had John/Bob compete to be chief of staff.. and blaming Kim and Bob for poisoning Andy's mind against him.. attempt to blackmail both of them about their previous affair and dead child.. then have it come out there was an affair at some big event.. and you could have still had the fallout without having to rewrite history by having Sabrina survive, etc.

No dice...luann is evil and karma is finally punishing her for all the crap she put Bethenny and Alex through. I felt the same way when Ramona had the rig pulled out from under her by Mario. Karma is a bitch

Personally, I liked the actress that replaces Julianne Moore as Frannie much better then Moore... so hang tight for that.. I think that's in 1989 I believe.

Knots Landing
Reading your re-watch of season 11... this season really shows the contempt the show--runners had for Val. You'd think after the whole Jill episode, she would want to enjoy being single and have fun with friends and casual dating for awhile before getting sucked back into a relationship. Also, having Val isolated from the other characters in season 11 is sad... but at the same time, how could Val be included in a realistic way with the other characters especially outside of the cul de sac grouping? She wasn't involved with Lotus Point nor with Sumner Group.. and most of the new characters coming in weren't moving into the cul de sac (other then the Williams clan). I think by the 10th and 11th season.. it was like two different shows (the Sumner Group and cul de sac crowd).. and with Abby/Laura gone.. you lost two key bridges that could have tied the shows together.. since Paige really didn't have a lot of interaction with the rest of the cul de sac group despite living there for a couple of seasons.

I can understand Tinsley being a little gleeful about Luann's arrest and such... cause Countess Luann has always been a judgmental elitist snob especially when she was married to the Count. So I imagine she had a few things to say about Tinsley's less than stellar history... and now that Karma has dealt with Luann... I would be like Tinsley and be a little gleeful about it.

Why invest in a new cast photo when there aren't any new cast members. A great way to save money

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Given everything that Beth had gone through...her with an alter made sense..problem was that the show didn't execute it correctly. I will say at least the character of Beth finally got therapy even if off screen...and in the final year or so..b3came more like the Beth of old. With that said, I laughed at the show when Beth said L izzie (as played by marcy r) reminded her of her...when L izzie was the spitting image in looks, mannerisms, and personality to Krista T's Mindy. See 1983 Mindy and compare her to Lizzie in the late 2000s. Both could pass as mother and daughter....more so then Beth and Lizzie.

I think DJ and Steve had to happen..but if rather show that they two realize both have changed and they can't go back. Of course, I think I'd rather habe had the three leads be single much longer beforw putting them in relationships. We hardly had time to see them single beforw they were coupled up. The original.had all three men s8ngle for the first season before the coupling began. Glad the show bought Vicky back..it is shake they didn't marry in the original since she got in so well.

Susan has some good stuff coming up in the late 80s into the mid to late 90s. You will not be disappointed...and it might answer any brief references/tensions between her and kim...and her and Lucinda. You will not be disappointed, but Susan in the late 60s and all of the 70s was her at her peak (I w asnt born yet).

Rico bellini...nick bellini's nephew....a shame the character didn't get reintroduced when Nick was on the show. Althea was obsessed with Nick hence why most of her relationships don't work out..even though he was an abusive SOB. I don't get why they were popular back in the day as a couple.

Marlo and booze do not mix. If you see Marlo drinking, turn around and walk away. Porsha and insanity seem to go hand in hand. In a normal work environment, she would have been fired already. I agree that they should only do a 13 to 14 episode season with a nice mix of individual plus group moments, plus a 2 part reunion and a lost scenes episode like in the old days.

Do the people that run HULU live under a rock? serialized shows do better on platforms like Netflix/Hulu because of the binging potential. DVD sales for serialized/soap type shows were higher then for procedurals as well.
