  1. I still prefer Brenda as Ashley...she was softer, prettier...yet she wasnt a pushover. She always stood up to Victor and didnt hesitate to leave him. When she played Ashley..I saw Brad as her end game....when Eileen plays Ashley..I saw her end game being Victor.
  2. I liked carrie genzel in the part...and thought she played the tortured daddies girl better than Robin Christopher...imho.
  3. The kyle and Portia seen with the Vanderhaul and not being able to properly grocery shop, Rinna with her mother/daughters, Erika acting like Erika launching her tool, Denise working out with hubby, and LVP with the kitchen renovation makes me wish the show would devote just one episode to not having the women together in a contrived gathering.. nor talk about LVP/dog gate/etc... and just be with their own families. To give viewers a break from the pointless petty drama. With that said, I loved how Rinna said she hasn't thought of Kim... yeah.. keep telling yourself that dear. Both Rinna and Kyle have used Kim for storyline for years... and when Kim left... they both latched onto LVP.
  4. I have to say I preferred Brenda in the role of Ashley over Eileen... and I wished the powers that be had lured Brenda back to play the part of Ashley.. since some fans remember her fondly (in fact, I shared a few youtube clips of Brenda as Ashley with viewers who didn't know of her.. and they actually said they would have liked her better if they saw her in the role originally)... and I bet Brenda wouldn't be as expensive as Eileen is. And I think the reason I liked Nixon was because she provided a good balance between character interaction and story bubbles... and the show used the restaurants and parties/balls to great effect to mix up the character interactions. Bell would have a ball.. and the characters still were situated in their own story bubble (which makes sense because people usually will stay interacting with people they know well.. and maybe do a polite greeting to those they might not know as well)... and I'm sorry.. I didn't like ATWT because everyone was in one another's business even when it didn't make sense.
  5. I liked that style of storytelling...some characters organically wouldn't know one another. Victor encouraged Nina to pursue Ryan so he and Victoria didnt interact...I recall that. Nikki and Nina had one scene in the late 90s after Victoria's baby Eve died where Nina expressed sympathy..and Nikki eyed nina leaving and asked Victoria if Nina was causing trouble..and Victoria said not at all. And I do recall before Nina left in early 2000...her and Sharon interacted a lot since their kids went to Walnut Grove..and Nina was a supportive big sister to both Mackenzie and Megan Dennison. Had nina stayed, she probably would have interacted with others. She also was tested with Ashley's step brother Rafael and advised Cole on how to handle the Victoria/Ashley situation. Agnes Nixon did that to a certain extent on AMC...but not as blatant as Bill Bell did. Marland overdid the character interactions..some of which didnt make sense...and I did notice got better with that in the later years of his tenure in ATWT.
  6. Making alexis comic relief was ill advised considering that NS could play cold and throw shade with the best of them. And I wish the show could have recalled that NS in essence played a Fallon Carrington esque character on KL with great success. Of course, our show runners probably only recall shows made after 2000.
  7. Boring...enough with fighting and doing take downs...all it shows is that these women have no lives and are bored so they manufacture drama. Money not only doesnt buy you class, it also doesnt buy you a life.
  8. Bethenny is ignorant...especially when asked about what she would do if she were on RHOA. She would so be threatened by Kandi
  9. And Aaron spelling didnt realize that daytime is different than primetime...sometimes it takes time for a show to gel..and soap fans dont like revamps every few months either. I dont recall Adrienne frantz on the show..was her character as bad as people thought..it didnt seem like her character fit. I know her character was involved with the Meg/Ben story before the mark/sean triangle...but i think Gabi was a better fit with Mark and was a better written character....and Annie served as a better spoiler for Ben/meg (and I didnt like how she got spun off from that story into the Richards orbit).
  10. And we wont see the Donna nude photo story along with her plot to get even with Bill Spencer either
  11. Because Porsha has things going on in her life...that's why she's more likable...she has more to offer other than generate conflict. rinna on bh should offer more..but she wont sadly.
  12. I liked that Emily was Bette's daughter.. it gave Bette more dimension as more than just Olivia's sidekick or Annie's quirky aunt. I don't recall if Annie or Emily interacted all that much... I could see Annie being annoyed at Emily for being a goody goody.. yet being the protective cousin when Amy/Brad were mean to Emily.. and I could see Emily being resentful that the love she wanted from her mother was given to Annie and wondering if her mother had wished that Annie were her daughter instead of her. Lastly, I kind of liked the Annie/Maria friendship.. both actresses played off each other well.. and it was the one time that Maria was likable and had some personality. It was nice to see Maria being a conscience for Annie... and it was nice seeing Annie encouraging her friend to be more pro-active. I still recall one scene where Annie/Maria were hanging out.. and Tess was there for a minute.. where she and Annie eyed one another (like one schemer recognizing a fellow schemer).. and after Tess leaving.. Annie asking Maria what her deal was.. and that she got a bad vibe about Tess.. with Maria laughing it off. The show had potential.. but just didn't know how to balance the traditional soapy qualities with the audience of the late 90s that were into faster pace/edgier fare.
  13. I thought the show was teasing an Emily/leo/sean story...but than the show opted to keep that dippy Amy on...and decided to drop Leo..and keep Amy and her male sidekick. Also, the show was kinda isolated with little to no interaction
  14. I saw kathy glass in one episode as MJ...she didnt have the warmth and quirkiness..imho. she wasnt bad though
  15. Episode 278 released today..some good scenes with the Logans. And this was during the writer strike..and the writing is loads better than what's offered nowadays.
  16. Judi Evan's had the edge and spunk of Nancy...plus her and Jenson had good frenemy chemistry.
  17. I'm of the belief that LVP doesn't even bat an eye to this challenge.... nothing would bother Kyle and the rest of the women than LVP not even mentioning it... or commenting about it. Having LVP nuke them at the reunion, on social media, etc... is exactly what the women are wanting. Best way to deal with a bully is to not give them any attention, mention, etc.
  18. Taylor Armstrong vs tamra...now that would be something to see. I could see Taylor and Shannon being friendly...both out of domestic situations, etc...common bond and all.
  19. It made sense that Mary Williams didn't interact with Katherine because they weren't in the same circles. It was more organic that the two might pass one another at a social function and say hi to one another without having a deep conversation. I liked the Carl storyline for a lot of reasons... it explained what happened to Carl, it showed Mary being depressed and finally moving on with her life only to have long thought dead husband Carl come back into the picture... it showed that Carl/Ruth had a good life.. and that Mary had to accept that she found him only to realize that she truly had lost her husband.... and it was the one time Nina was correct that Chris not telling Paul/Mary about her quest would backfire on her... and Paul was upset with her for awhile... and Chris had to admit to Nina that she was wrong and that Nina was right (this is when I knew daddy was no longer writing the show).
  20. To be honest... I think had the time slot not been switched.. the show would have still be cancelled.. but in the mid 90s. Besides.. the show was in dire straits by the time the time slot switch happened anyway.
  21. Seeing Mary WIlliams getting drunk and calling Isabella a *itch... memorable scene for me
  22. I don't miss her... the show has been fine the last two seasons.. without her and her hot mess sister in law Jacqueline. I've found when you bring back former housewives.. shows can stagnate (i.e. Nene on Atlanta, Bethenny on NY, etc).
  23. Sara 1 seems chippy and upbeat..girl next door..a good contrast to Nola/Joan Sara 2 seems jaded, introspective..serious.
  24. What makes the Patty/Emily story make even less sense was that Patty/Jack divorced.. had closure.. and she was put into the Danny/Paul/Lauren/Traci orbit for the last six months or so of Andrea Evans stint... and the character wasn't hung up on Jack.
  25. I think I read that she opted not to resign (Lillibet) and Bill Bell was disappointed because he had lots of story he wanted to do with Patty. I think Andrea did as well as one could do being thrown into the climax of a 2 year story (1981 was when Patty started crushing on Jack).. so I think she was a good sport. Oddly.. she had a lot more to play in her almost 18 month stint as Patty vs most of her stint as Tina..imho (The jack/Patty divorce closure talk was well-written and well acted.. but had Lillibet stayed, it would have had even more impact..imho). I do wonder if Bill Bell would have written Patty as being responsible (by accident) of Traci miscarrying if Lillibet had remained in the role.
