  1. The last 17 or 18 minutes of a Neighbours episode - not sure of the Australian airdate. (for any game show fans, this episode of Going For Gold was apparently "lost"). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23fwY5XUImg
  2. I have many fond childhood memories of watching the show, which, when it was good, was fantastic. It was always just on in the background, either at my home or someone else's. It was ever-present in American life. Bob was an integral part of that, even if he was never the element which made me feel most at home as a viewer (that was often the models and Rod Roddy). After everything I heard about what happened with Dian, and Holly, I never really watched again, with no regrets. There was so much else that I didn't even know of until just now (like what happened with Rod). I miss what that show, for those years, represents in my mind, even if it's never going to be the show that was most special to me (that was stuff like Sale of the Century, or even Double Dare, Classic Concentration, etc.). He was certainly a very talented and charismatic presence onscreen and knew how to play with the audience. And he did a lot for animals. Rest in peace.
  3. I don't think they have the majority of the public (the press I'm not too sure of), but I do think in some cases apathy ends up being as persuasive. They mostly know they can just keep waiting the WGA and SAG out with all the piles of cash they are sitting on, but I guess this crisis firm is a way to try to flex and speed things up.
  4. I assume that means they know this will drag on for a long time and they are girding their loins. So many in the press have already been carrying water for them and now just have even more incentive. I saw that the Deadline article tried to frame this as the AMPTP being outfoxed by the nimble, scheming WGA. You can tell they are shaken up that more of the public aren't supportive of them (even if most of the public is probably very apathetic toward everyone involved).

  6. A full Guiding Light episode, with commercials, at the start of this video. I'm not sure of the exact date but based on the promo about La Toya Jackson being in Playboy, I would guess sometime in early March or mid-March 1989. There is a promo for a Murder She Wrote repeat; there was a new episode at the end of February as well as the 12th of March, so it can't fit those time periods. This is also before some of the Vault episodes like March 23rd. @Vee @SFK Ellen Holly has a few good scenes in the early part of the episode, reprising her judge role. There are some nice scenes with Philip and Elizabeth Denehy's Blake too. Never thought I'd see Blake talking about the Long, Long Trailer. 7. A December 1988 episode (looks like the 28th). There aren't as many on Youtube and this one seems to be an original rather than a Soapnet repeat. ia800506.us.archive.org/7/items/another-world_202308/Another World.mp4
  8. Trump was back on Twitter to post this. That is probably his biggest sign of weakness yet.
  9. Reading in an old TV Guide, I see a mention that Aaron Spelling wanted Barbara Stanwyck on Hotel (rather than Anne Baxter, presumably), but she was not likely to say yes as she was thinking of retiring. After The Colbys I guess she wished she had just retired.
  10. Apparently, this might be about 30 seconds of film, from what someone else said. The below is all that is available of Cleopatra for now:
  11. Coulter has a history of wishing violence and death on NYT personnel. Not that those who run the place care, clearly.
  12. I don't think they were in the wrong either. Friends was a show I never liked (and Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow are the only two people on there I find to be worth watching - not to derail your point), and it has dated very badly, much worse than MSW in my opinion. I don't blame Friends for the end of MSW, and I doubt Angela did either, but poking some fun at it wasn't a big deal.

  14. Bash is also, as a few people mentioned, one of the main media voices who kept going on about Trump's "new tone."
  15. Tells you how unhinged the reaction to Meghan Markle is that they had to turn off comments on such a harmless tweet.
  16. I remember some comments about this with regard to one of the videos that Murder She Wrote recap woman on Youtube made, about the episode with Andrew Stevens as a smooth talker who was into older women and might have been a killer - that it couldn't have been done in later seasons of the show.
  17. Not a surprise, but still, what a [!@#$%^&*] joke...and so brazen too.
  18. Thanks @Melroser I was looking for that clip.
  19. Didn't see that. Still, it was worth reading.
  20. More game-playing from the studios that is going to keep stalling this out. I wonder if the people who think the powers that be want to stall this out to make it easier to just dump anything and everything are right. https://deadline.com/2023/08/wga-strike-guild-regjects-latest-studio-offers-rips-ceos-1235525784/
  21. Joel Crothers is in the first ad (maybe the first ad I've ever seen him in). Jon Cypher is in one later in the video.

    Thanks!
  23. Thanks. I didn't even know she'd been on GH, then or now. She and Grace Philips interacted for such a short time on OLTL yet they're still good friends now. That's something. I'm glad they talked with her so much about the Daisy Awards and trying to treat soaps with respect (something many in the genre now don't seem to care about).
