I think most of MKA's '90s soap stints were short-term by her choice. I do wonder what happened with her '98-'99 stint as it seemed like that was more open-ended. Maybe Rauch decided she wasn't hot enough. I don't know. They should have brought Samantha back. With Dylan long gone, I think her having no real identity beyond being Ross' niece and Philip's sister meant they didn't care, or most of the later teams had never heard of her. (I'm not even sure how much interaction she had with Philip)

That's actually a good promo. Could have gone on even longer but still good.

A scene with Lotty/Ned (with Eban popping in at the end) at about 11 minutes. They also put up a cast crawl in one of their 12/28/87 tapes, with Luke Perry still in the credits.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
A great read @Vee I'd never seen that music interview. Gottlieb is so blunt in the show's problems, I'm not surprised some were unhappy, but I am glad ABC gave her carte blanche, especially as this was, I think, a little while after Monty's disastrous GH return so they could have easily been more gun-shy. If only an incoming producer on a soap now would be allowed such power. Considering how blase or sarcastic in the case of the music person they both are about Megan's death story, I'm glad they still put in so much effort for the material. Lee Ann's theme is beautiful. Very much in that early '90s tone that reminds me of Faces of the Heart, but this feels deeper and has less of the overly lite jazz parody vibe that pulls me back a tad on Faces of the Heart. Evan Bonifant still acts here and there (his last project that went on for a longer period of time seems to be Steam Room Stories), and he's on Instagram, where he posts occasionally. Instagram

That would have been lovely, even if the plan, IIRC, was just for him to appear as a spirit. I think Harley not being there was also a bit sad, but I know Beth was still at AMC and that character had already been run into the ground. I would have enjoyed an India return too, however briefly.

That's at the top of the list (and yet somehow some actually praised him not bringing vets back as bravery...), but not the only one. One that always bothers me is on Coronation Street when Julie Goodyear said she wished she could return for the funeral of Betty Driver's character Betty, as they were close friends on and offcamera. ITV and the producers had such a beef with her, presumably, that they didn't agree, even though it would have meant so much to viewers (these characters had been close from the early '70s to the mid '90s) and given the character of Betty a proper goodbye.

Ryan's Hope Discussion Thread
They seemed to retcon her relationship with Roger when they decided to make Roger "good" around 1980, which meant lots of scenes of the two of them sneering at Delia. A simmering rivalry between Jill and Faith could have been interesting. They went so fast, and Faith behaved in ways that were difficult to ever come back from. I wish they'd managed the buildup better because this was some of the only time KMG seemed to find her footing in the part.

Y&R: Longtime daytime actor joins in new 'mystery role'
I don't know if 5 pages on a board that isn't exactly driving industry focus is enough to warrant another 50-something hiring on a show where the median age must be 200, and on top of that, someone whose career prime was in 1995. It's not that Roger isn't talented or charismatic. He is. And he's aged very well. I just think these choices exemplify the failures of modern Y&R.

Thanks so much @EricMontreal22 ! That channel usually puts up new content. This one seems new to me. @dc11786 may remember it more than I do though.

I give Wheeler a lot of credit for getting Lisa back as I know she and Michael Tylo both felt so burned by the show. And I give Lisa credit for returning, even though she had to change in a car and whatever else. I imagine she's the one who threw in the line about Quint and also that gorgeous look back at Company before she left. I don't think much of Jesse at first but I do like him more after a year or so when he shift stories a bit. On paper, it should have made sense to see Nola grasping again, but the results were very sad. The fantasy scene at least allows us to see Lisa Brown's dancing skills but that's the best I can say. She also had a fantasy in 1995 or 1996 where she was in a Western, shooting an extra who was meant to represent Quint. Just miserable.

Not sure where this should go either (apologies if it was already post). Cynthia Watros talks about her soap roles. https://www.remindmagazine.com/article/34470/cynthia-watros-general-hospital-guiding-light-annie-dutton/
