That's Daisy Eagan (who won a Tony for The Secret Garden) as Linette.
I had forgotten that Ilene Kristen had played the wife of Bailey Thompson, or really that Bailey had had a wife. Did this storyline assume that Sharlene had been a child in Bay City and not Oklahoma?
I like Joe with Frankie very much here. And it was nice to see Ian Rain as well. I don't remember why Jake was dead at this time and or why Paulina thought there was a mystery.

Steve Shaw really wasn't much as an actor (at least he wasn't as he got older, I think he did pretty well in some of his guest spots on various 70s dramas), but no one, and I mean NO ONE, could give "What the heck is going on nowww??" face better.

I had to put KL on pause for a while after getting settled into S7, but I already feel like, as many have said, the peak has been achieved, and now begins the slow descent. The fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons were truly the best.

I think what I remember most about "Phenom," aside from the fact that it was produced by James L. Brooks, is its' theme song. A terrific song, even though I still don't know what Carly Simon meant about the feeling being so good between the promise and the prize, lol.

Oh man, that's sad news. I've been enjoying watching the show so much this summer and regularly thinking of how fortunate we are to still have the three most central performers with us to share memories and insights. It's a true testament to LL's talent that she was able to make Mary one of TV's iconic characters in just a year and a half with a show that wasn't heavily rerun and was pretty obscure for a good 25-30 years. Even before I really knew what MHMH was, I knew those pigtails and that big "Everything is fine" smile. It's been nice to see it and Mary as a character get a bit more attention and recognition in recent years.

That's terrible to hear. MH2 "missed" as often as it hit, but Lasser's performance, both in serious or dramatic scenes and in comedic ones, always remained note-perfect and a gem. RIP.
