B&B in 2nd place in the 18-49 women demo is surprising. Goes to show that other than Y&R, all the soaps are tumbling in that crucial ad generating demo. Hopefully, ABC moves buys AMC, GH and OLTL some time, but hard to say how much time.

They are going to go with the show that cost least to produce. I am still upset that Without A Trace on CBS got cancelled over a show with worse ratings. The reason...the other show is less costly to produce. So the higher rated show gets the shaft. I wish another network would be pick up the show.

Given that NBC cancelled AW prior to SuBe--despite the fact that AW had nearly one million more viewers--what makes anybody believe that ABC wouldn't hesitate to cancel OLTL prior to AMC (even if OLTL has slightly higher ratings)?

While this is unfair, OLTL will be the first ABC soap to go because it doesn't have the "buzz" and name recognition that AMC has. To believe otherwise is absolutely delusional.

The DAYS numbers are crazy. When they last averaged above 2,8 mil. in viewers, their HH was secure in 2´s. Now they are still struggling at 1,9. Tuesday has 2,813,000 viewers with 2.0 HH and thursday is even higher with 2,838,000 viewers, yet the HH are only at 1,8. That´s so not fair.

OLTL costs less to produce than AMC yet OLTL still seems likely to go first.

AW was much more expensive to produce than SuBe.

I wish I saw all this brand name value for AMC, perhaps I'm just overlooking it, but aside from Susan Lucci and the publicity for that horrible Reese/Bianca story, I don't see that much talk about AMC. They don't talk about most of the other soaps either, but AMC is the one, along with GH, which is supposedly only staying on because of name value.

Ask non soap watchers who Susan Lucci is and many of them will be able to tell you even if its only from her Youthful Essence infomercials, her appearances on DWTS or her turn as the definitive female Scrooge in Lifetime's Ebbie. Ask those same people who Erika Slezak is and they will probably say she was their first grade teacher.

Erica Kane, they know. Luke and Laura, they know. And I'm shocked by how many men ADORE Victor Newmann,(my father and his coworkers included.) Even Deirdre Hall is known outside of the genre but nothing and no one from OLTL ever crossed into the mainstream outside of a few appearances on Roseanne in the 90's.
