Maybe I'm being dumb, but how exactly has AMC increased viewers, when they're DOWN viewers from last year?

If they increased as is being said, then why the cancellation rumors? LOL

I'm guessing that's what is turning people off of OLTL, the propping of the scumbag rapist

Yea for Y&R!!! A 4.0 on Friday.Hopefully,they'll get to a 4.0 for a whole week.

Congrats to Days.Ironic that the ratings are up while people are split about the storylines.

Go GL.Hoping they can get it together, bump up the numbers and be renewed.

Yeah, Dena won't be fired any time soon. sad.gif

Glad that some soaps had a spike for the holiday's though. And nice to see that 4.0 for Y&R on Friday.

Not with her sitting pretty at 3.2 and #3 in total viewers. A 2.3 HH rating. And #1 in most of the important categories. She sure isnt going anywhere.

Friday's Y&R was great. It had the Victor/Jill meeting that comes to mind. Glad to see the soaps go up to. Nice bump for GL too. I dont know why it happened...LOL. I still think the show is horse [!@#$%^&*]....LOL

How can a show go up in total viewers, yet the HH rating stays the same?

Staying stangnant isn't much for AMC, or OLTL to brag about. In many ways that's much worse than going down. It means nothing is drawing in new viewers

That is weird. Maybe it has something to do with new measurements and factoring in DVRs? Or is a rating share this year worth more than last year as the population grows?

Personally I think it's just spin on the parts of ABC, cause if it weren't Pratt writing, they wouldn't bother. He's been a dismal failure, and they're trying to spin ratings in his favor

I have a feeling some of Days rise in the ratings is due to the addition of former Passions cast. I've watched Days just to see Eric Martsolf as Brady. I know that usually/never rises soap ratings. But I cant think of why Days numbers are up and so high. When was the last time Days had a 2.3?

So nothing good happened on Days to make it go up ratings wise? Maybe the bump is cause viewers know it's getting closer to Dee and Drake leaving?

I don't think Martsolf and Gering's additions have ANYTHING to due with the rise in ratings. The current bump is more because it was the holiday and people were home more, in particular, the college and high school sets. It will flatten out next week.

It appears that DAYS is gaining mostly in younger viewers, so the former Passions stars being there had to help somewhat, not to mention many high school and college students being home. Also, in September, DAYS switched back to its 1:00 PM timeslot in the NYC tri-state area (the biggest television market in the country). For the 2007-2008 season, they had switched it to the 2:00 PM timeslot, where it was in direct competition with OLTL and ATWT. It also switched back to its original timeslot in a few other affiliates.

Anyway, Higley will be writing the show's finale, that's all but set in stone.

It's hard to explain but the HH rating has a different formula, I think and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the HH is how many people where watching TV during that particular hour and the share the particular program had of that viewership. I could be completely wrong.

That's probably the reason for the bump.

I know I'm evul, but I LOVE that Days went up, yet Dena is a hack, and AMC stays stagnant, yet Pratt is supposed to be so "great".

There is something so delightfully hilarious about that LOL

HH's only measures how many Households are watching and has nothing to do with how many people are watching.

1 household may have 5 or 6 people in it but it only counts 1 time but in viewers it will count all 6.

The Viewers can be higher this week for the same Household number than last week simply by one week have bigger households viewing. Last week it may have been smaller households.

*********************************

So that has nothing to do with ABC spinning it. Viewers are calculated by the size of the household. ABC can't change that or spin it.

I wonder if the people who laugh about stuff like above will be laughing when their show is gone and they can see their faves ever again.

I'm still not liking AMC. The filming technique is awful too. I am LOL that Dena is beating not only Pratt but Guza and Carlivati(the Gawd of Soaps...LOL)

Oh and one more thing. Stagnant is not always bad.

Remember just this year alone Days remained stagnant at 2.0 for weeks and weeks and weeks. Look at them now.

Ratings have got to stablilize before they can go up. For quite awhile now the ratings have slowly been going down for both AMC and OLTL just like they did for DAys.

The stablilzing and getting stagnant with no big fluctuations is actually a good thing. It means that more of the fans are actually sticking with it. AMC needs that. OLTL does too.

A 4.0 for Friday on Y&R and a 3.9 on Monday...FABULOUS.

B&B is stable and a solid second...FABULOUS.

DAYS is trending up up up...FABULOUS.

ABC and the P&G soaps are in the dumps...FABULOUS! That's what you get Frons when your shows are sh*t!

Valentini(Looking at a pic of Carlivati): Don't worry Frons baby....we have stud Ron writing for OLTL.

Dena Higley: Hahahahahahahahahaha

I knew there was a reason I liked you wub.gif wink.gif

I still say something seems screwy. How can a show go up in overall viewers, and in a key demographic, yet the HH doesn't go up at all. Not that I'm complaining LOL
