Shallow thought of the day: I'm no size queen(queen, no doubt), but I hope Alan-Michael's a grower instead of a shower. ;)

Now that that is out of the way, I wonder if this will be a GL Emmy Submission? Seems like a lot of soaps are taking their cue from GH and assume that big budget disasters will win the Emmy.

But again, TPTB missed the boat by making the episode ALL ACTION. This is the reason why GH wins the Emmy during these stunt-driven episodes: because every scenes about stakes: Life or death. The scenes with Dinah and Jeffrey drag on and kind of have no correlation to the hotel fire. It does offer an interesting contrast, however, to what is going on.

And was I the only one laughing when Ava was trapped under the fire? Hehehe. Michelle Ray Smith is such a bad actress. Hehehe.

I don't know what to think about today's show. I dunno what was more hilarious ava trapped under the door or Coop looking for his beard for the moment in dispare.....

I was thinking the same thing, bellcurve...this episode has got to be Emmy bait. But unlike GH...GL is able to integrate character-driven material amidst all the action.

Random comments...

- Is it awful that I want Mallet dead? At this point, I think it would be much more dramatic if he did die and Dinah had to deal with killing the guy who supposedly changed her.

- Ava being stuck under that door had me feeling sorry for her when Olivia left her but those scenes became comedic as soon as Alan-Michael stepped in.

- Speaking of Alan-Michael..I love the guy's sense of humour. I thought for sure he was behind "Springfield Burns" but now I'm not sore sure...

- the Dinah & Jeffrey scenes did kinda drag...

- Dinah needs serious help. I love her but her crazy attitude annoys the hell out of me when it becomes near psychotic. She acts like an immature 12-year-old half the time. I hope her and Mallet are done after this.

I'm shocked to hear this show being discussed as GL's Emmy submission. You guys maybe right, but it's lost on me. I didn't think it was very good at all. Ava trapped under the door was laughable. Not just because of the acting, but those doors look so flimsy. I can't believe Olivia didn't at least tell Buzz Ava was trapped.

Alan Michael was funny. Guess we can count on something going on between AM and Ava.

I think this accident may just be the thing that puts Mallet and Dinah back together again. Dinah will forgive him and all that crap. <_<

Not sure what is meant about the grower comment, my wife thought it was pretty good looking...afterall, it was ...well, unmotivated.

Any scene with Ava yesterday falls on the actress. She did not perform well at all. AT ALL. Very disappointed with her..a.nd I was just starting to like her.

Blake being the hero..hilarious.

The story did what it was supposed to, move story along. Create moments, drama, etc,

But I do not see how it would be emmy worthy?

In fairness, I have to agree with you. But when Michelle Ray Smith started whining after Olivia left(someone help me PLEEEEEZE!). Hehehe.

Really? I am going by past Emmy Submissions and what has won for certain shows in the past. GH won in 2005 for their lame hotel fire, and in 2006, they won for the trainwreck. BOTH of which were big budget disasters. Shows are no longer relying on their "I Love Lucy" stunts and Christmas Episodes to get Emmy.

The trend lately is winning by disaster. AMC had the explosion at the Mardi Gras Ball and, I have no doubt one of those episodes will be their Emmy Submission. GL's hotel fire didn't look fabulous, but it was ok. And I think the drama in the episode makes it stand out over anything GH does that is stunt-oriented. That is why I feel that this is GL's 2007 Emmy Submission. Fires, trainwrecks, explosions have dazzled Emmy Voters for the past two years. Who's to say GL won't try this year with the hotel fire?

I dunno what was more hilarious ava trapped under the door or Coop looking for his beard for the moment in dispare...

Oh come on. Coop isn't gay. Maybe metro, but not gay. I'd be agreeing with you if Marty West played the role though. Wrestlers are yummy.

I'm not saying they won't, but if they do they'll lose, imo. That episode sucked. I love GL, but it just does not compare to what GH has done when it comes to big budget disasters. First, GH's production is just better, but let's say we forget that it looked cheap compared to GH (and that GH has been there and done that with a hotel fire). There was just too much bad acting yesterday (MRS killed that episode. I'm not a picky !@#$%^&*], but that performance was laughable) If GL submits an emmy episode that doesn't have Kim Zimmer and Tom Pelphrey in it, they just aren't shooting with their big guns. I'm not a big KZ fan either, but there's no denying the woman's talent, imo.

Last week's, ITL where Jon realized he wanted his daughter and he and Reva went down memory lane was a much better episode, imo.

I thought the whole episode was boring. Ava and Oliva were boring. Not even remotely funny. It hurt my ears. Alan Michael, Oh God I can't stand that actor. I would love to see someone worthy of the role in tehre (paging Billy Warlock).

Dinah and Jeffrey were icky. She will never get what is coming to her and that is what makes me love her more.

The reason I saw yesterday's show as Emmy bait...bellcurve pretty much stated. There was a disaster involving a lot of people while letting the viewers know about the characters and their relationships at the same time. Do I think it's the best episode GL could submit? No. I'm hoping there will be other, bettered attempts as I'm sure there will be (there's got to be considering a chunk of the cast wasn't in yesterday's episode).

I agree with Julia that Reva's ITL last week would be a way better choice for an Emmy submission. Although it was Reva's ITL...it didn't really feel like it because it focused on different characters..not just one. Plot was moved along and so were relationships.

I like Dinah. Glad to see the Beacon go up in flames and Liv finally admit that she loved Buzz.

That said...I like A-M...the actor that is. Think he's sort of hot, but just not A-Mish.
