I think that OLTL, GL, and GH need new HWs immediately. But I only see that happening to OLTL and GL.

B&B should get a HW or a co-HW b/c Bell looks like he's out of fresh ideas. He's basically recycling storylines right now. He can't write for young adults at all. Usually, I'm not a big fan of teen storylines, but what kind of future does B&B have? Stephanie and Brooke aren't going to be around forever, and since B&B is the one soap that I see outlasting all the rest alongside Y&R, I don't want to see no-name characters coming on in the future. Maybe even someone working as HW temporarily would help to put the show in a good direction so that Bell could get some fresh ideas. But I doubt that will happen either.

ATWT also needs a co-HW too. I think Passanante is better than I had expected her to be, but the storylines are so hit-or-miss. For every baby switch storyline or Luke's coming out, we get a BJ Greene or Nick Kasnoff storyline. Those really bring a damper to the show. Also, it doesn't help that the same characters get recycled...it's just as bad as when Hogan was HW. Half of the contract actors get frontburnered all the time, while the other half get nothing.

Maybe US soap execs and writers should realize that every cast members deserves to be treated equally. On German soaps, storylines are usually planned for a year in advance so every contract role has a storyline throughout the whole year, and if they don't have a major storyline going on, they are somehow involved in other storylines as supporting players. Out of 22 episodes a month, everyone appears in at least 10 episodes - except when the cast members are on holiday.

Nobody gets bumped to recurring - either they are on contract or they are gone forever. Recurring players don't exist, only guest characters that are involved in one storyline, usually not longer than six months. If they are popular enough, they might be signed to a contract, but that doesn't happen very often.

We also don't have this headwriter stuff etc. Actually nobody cares about who's writing the show because you don't even notice a change behind the scenes. There are a handful of people who plan the storylines in team work and several writers.

Shhhh....sperm is not called sperm on AMC. It's called "samples". Lol.

AMC is so progressive. As soon as Janet J.'s boob reached fresh air Y&R only used the term "genetic material"...

In the Australian soaps, it works in sequence so to speak..for instance, the storyline will never take up over 2 episodes that week, for instance

Monday - Susan and Rachaels secret romances are about to be exposed.

Tuesday - The truth comes out, Rachael leaves home

Wednesday - Dont appear

Thursday - Dont appear

Friday - Rachaels sister, Katya is kidnapped by Robert, but Rachael is still angry with Susan
