There has been some great discussion about Viki and the family in the OLTL openings thread, but I am more curious about Viki herself.

Today is a life altering day, so what is going to happen to Viki and what should she do?

Viki should be in a relationship, I find it stupid everyone in town has someone to lean on, but Viki has no one at all. She is left out in the cold once more.

Viki needs her own story for her to be doing something, and personally I think the show has killed any chance for a Viki/Clint get together with what they are doing. There is no rooting value from them at all, and that is sad.

Viki is key and central to this show, OLTL cannot afford to drop their main leading lady when ratings keep hitting all time lows. The fans are getting ticked and still there is no story for so many of the greats, but especially for Viki who needs a story and a chance to move on to some happiness.

I actually don't get what OL is even doing these days for any other their stories since all they do is go around in circles and have no payoff and absolutely no direction.

What is to be done with Viki? This great character needs story and a s.o. and Erika Slezak needs a story to sink her teeth into, this show needs it too.

It's so hard to say with her because IMO, she, more than any other lead femme on daytime has been through it all. Literally. She's just been hammered and nailed with everything you could think of. She should get a love interest, but doesn't that seem so....je ne sais quoi after cancer, two bouts with D.I.D., and everything else?

Viki needs a life of her own. It's past time for her integration, and way overdue. The past seven years, everything that can be taken away from her has been at some level or another, at least for a time: Mitch robbed her of Llanfair for awhile, she's nearly lost her daughters how many times, she's lost her health, her mind, her job. Just as we did get to see Nora fight for her own dignity with the stroke scenes this week, Viki needs a story where we can root for HER, not one where she is merely pimping a viewpoint the writers have to know is weak, trying to use what popularity she has left to sell a weak coupling or story.

The Clint/Dorian pairing might be more palatable IF they were willing to give Viki any story outside of the triangle, or as a minor player in the Jess integration. They postponed casting Clint for how many years? And even now he's the ONLY game in town for Viki. Viki needs some hope or brightness, not just this continual slapdown she's been getting since Disney took over.

One problem is that Viki is associated with the Banner, but newspapers and journalism are not the glamour industries they were in the eighties and nineties. Her dealing with running a newspaper in a day when the internet is the way news travels fastest could be interesting. I thought it bizarre that Viki would organize a parking lot rally when the Banner should have been at her disposal all along.

One timely thing that could be a cute, light story (and the canvas needs MORE of those) would be Viki joining a Red Hat club. Yes, it ages her, but there is no way around that she has to be at least 50. Why not have her deal and the audience deal with it in a fun way.

Viki pimping Dorian and Clint by giving her permission is perhaps a new low for the show. The first thing they need to do is have Pimp Viki exit stage right. At this point Viki doesn't have any capital to expend. First they need to give Viki back all that has been taken away from her. Start with her kids. She should be involved in getting Jessica real treatment for her disease. Move Kevin into Llanfair. Viki's a writer, have her write or LU has a journalism school have her teach. Maybe they should remeber that the Banner was only one of Victor's businesses he had many under the Lord Enterprises umbrella, let her be involved with it. Let her fight for her kids, herself and yes let her find someone to have some fun with along the way.

The do nothing mantra of this show is absurd. I'm tired of seeing Clint, Kelly and Viki stand around and do nothing while the people they claim to love drown. Why wasn't Kelly researching options to have a child or seeking help from Clint when she saw Kevin start drinking? Clint and Viki's reaction to Jessica's illness is absurd. Why were they not committing her and getting her real treatment? Why are they not finding a grief counselor for Kevin and themselves over Duke's death? The inaction doesn't make them look like loving family but rather indifferent and cold.

Viki pimping Dorian and Clint today was an all time low too. There was absolutely no discussion about it whatsover, it was a mere tossing out of words. Are you going to tell me Viki isn't upset about Clint being with Dorian? This is DORIAN here not Dallas, not Lindsay, not any other woman in the world, it is Dorian, the woman that has hurt Viki and her kids/family, including Clint for years, but Viki is like, 'oh great Clint go have a nice screw with her.' What??? That is the worst of the worst because last New Years when Niki popped out and Dorian met up with Niki and Niki told Dorian to go after Clint and she showed up at Clint's and Clint knew immediately it was Niki because he knew Viki would die if Clint was with Dorian. Now Viki is all happy about it? That is ridiculous. If they are turning this into a triangle it is already dead in the water because all three of them are so out of character it is ludicrous.

I agree that they need to get real Viki back and have her be rootable, be a woman we want to see win and fight and find something great in her life. Of course that means airtime, but you know what? This show is just sinking in the ratings and in the demos, so why not try something new? Why not have a Viki centric story and pull others in for once because it would certainly be better than the same old, same old we are getting now.

I would much rather see Viki/Clint and Dorian really got at it then, but as it is what a major wimpy cop out.

Also, I agree that Clint being the only available option in town for now two women is pathetic. After all the great Dorian and David they move her immediately on to Clint and again Viki is all alone because there is no alternative on canvas that is even more sad.

Oh, my. I saw it totally different. There is no way in hell that things are over between Viki and Clint. Not in this lifetime. They are both in denial about what that kiss meant and how much they still love each other. So, cannot wait to see this story play out futher.

The kiss between Dorian and David was closure. The kiss between Viki and Clint was a new beginning.

Now after seeing the kiss it must end up being a triangle. In the meantime how about Viki comes back with a new man on her arm so that she gets some fun and makes Clint jealous as hell. If they do a triangle than I agree let Viki really be in this and let Viki and Dorian duke it out. The focus should be on them, not only Clint, because it is Viki and Dorian that make the super couple of the show above all else.

However I don't trust Higley to do anything right, so of course this like all the other couplings on the show is going to go down the toilet. When is this woman finally going to get fired?

Dorian seems the same to me right now as she always was. Despite her problems with the Buchanans, she always did have something of a soft spot for Clint, given their early romantic history. Over the years she would make reference to it as if to say he should have chosen her instead of Viki.

When it comes to triangles, Viki has never been one to fight nasty for a man. She'll stand her ground and "stake her claim", if indeed the man is with her (ex: the way she was with Ben's ex, Carla, I think was her name). But she doesn't scheme for a man's attention. The most I would expect out of the Viki I've known in terms of a V/C/D triangle is her continuing her usual battling with Dorian (which she has) and reminding Clint of what a witch Dorian is (which she hasn't). Instead, she basically just rolls her eyes and acts like this is just one more stupid thing Clint is doing (like her disapproval of him siding with Nash).

Clint, meanwhile, shouldn't need to be reminded of the way Dorian is. I think they are playing his coming to see her all the time as sort of like his sanctuary away from all the craziness going on with his family (despite the only situation he has had any major involvement in is Jess). They're playing it like she amuses him, she is a welcome diversion for him. Meanwhile, the old Clint would have bodily escorted her out the door and tried to take care of his family. Thing is, unless Clint has a major personality change, I don't see him putting up very long with her desire to control everyone around her and all the cold manipulating. He had nothing but contempt for her for a very long time and now, suddenly, she's the one he goes to get away from his family problems?

I would say they are going to have to change Dorian and Clint to make that pairing work because Clint should not be standing for Dorian treating his family, his kids so horribly, therefore they will either have to make Clint blind to it all or turn Dorian into a pseudo Viki to make it smooth over. Another reason that pairing just doesn't work.

But I think Viki is going to surprise everyone and fight and fight and fight. And you know what? I hope she kicks Dorian to the curb for all the crap she has done to Viki over the years and gotten away with from the hit and run, paying off the judge in that, letting Lindsay stand trial, the constant blaming of Viki, the constant harrasment of Kevin, the list goes on, Dorian even held Viki in her basement and never paid for that kidnapping. But perhaps Viki will play dirty for once and shock us all, and you just know Clint, who loves attention, is going to eat it all up and be right there in Viki's arms when all is said and done.

The thing is Clint is going to take a big hit, he already is. He is not being portrayed as some great father and famiy man because we see him running off to be with anyone but his family. Why the heck isn't he with Kevin when he knows Kevin is hurting and needs the support. I feel like this is Clint Cramer and not Clint Buchanan. I am not an older viewer so the only bits of Clint I saw previously was Clint coming back briefly for Nat's wedding and for Viki. So, I don't have the long time viewer perspective and what I see as written now and shown onscreen is Clint is not a family man at all but very flighty and blind about so much I think he is a complete idiot for not seeing through Dorian when she has openly insulted Kevin and others right in front of him. Also, if Nat is his bio kid why isn't he ever shown with her? She was bleeding to death from a tornado, did he go visit her?

Why aren't they showing Clint helping Bo out, if Clint was suspicious of Spencer why isn't Clint there for Bo, and what about BE? Who is running it if Kelly is out, Duke is dead and Kevin is drunk? Where is Clint? I don't even necessarily like Clint, the actor is great, but where is the substance? I don't see it in the writing or onscreen I have to rely on long time viewers posting things or from my reading of the past, but as for who he is now? He is Clint Cramer and nothing more.

Viki needs to have a more viable life too. Have her be the head of the Hospital and give her back a life that is full. I saw her working at the Banner and at LU, now it is like they have stripped Viki of everything including her strength, dignity and all else and for what?

They need to get Viki back in full swing. Though, I do love that she is NOW the one that is going to be there for her family, because Clint is too worried about getting laid than anything else. I have watched this show for so many years, and though I've never been a Clint fan (until JvD took over the role), Clint would NEVER hurt his family like this, going to be with the enemy.

All I want right now is for them to give Viki back her life, and give her some much deserved happiness and romance.

All I can say is give Viki a new man. I don't even like the character of Clint because there is nothing there. It is all about sex never mind that his family is still a huge mess, but he is off looking for a quickie.

Viki needs a new man in her life, I don't buy her even wanting to fight for Clint let alone being with him. I would say the thing stands as not being a triangle, that Clint is a new Clint with a new personality. Keep Viki out of his warped world and let her have some fun and romance of her own.

I don't buy at all Clint going off to sleep with the enemy, don't buy it and I will be FF all of his Cramer scenes, since obviously he will only be spending his time with them and not with his OWN family. No wonder people are calling him Clint Cramer, I really understood that today. They have lobotimized Clint Buchanan with a recast.

The blatant use of Viki to prop Higley's new fave couple is just disgusting. Like on what planet would Viki be okay with her ex love of her life being with Viki's worst enemy? And even worse, on what planet would the real Clint Buchanan even take a second look at a woman who has constantly tormented and hurt his family for years on end.

Fine. Do whatever, but I tell you this, I neither want a triangle nor do I want Viki anywhere near the two horny teens because no way would I ever want Viki to be with that man ever, and I don't care for them to be using Viki yet again to pimp, prop or be written even worse than she is just for Higley's newest shock and awe couple.

Viki does need her own viable life including her own viable love interest. If they go for a triangle, who does OLTL expect anyone to root for? I certainly wouldn't root for Viki winning him, I would root for Viki to take a gun and blow both of their brains out instead and then finally get on with her own life. Better yet, let Viki give Dorian a taste of her own medicine and let Viki torment Dorian to the ends of the earth about anything and everything, then steal Clint from her, then very ceremoniously dump Clint on his horny ass once and for all.

No, Clint is going to be involved in the Kelly pregnancy, and you can just bet he keeps the pregnancy from Kevin since that is Clint's current M.O. Clint Cramer is what he is steadfastly turning into, so what was the point of recasting Clint Buchanan?
