Culliton wrote today's episode. Anyone know what is going on at OLTL?

SPEAKING OF OLTL...I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT I THINK SCRIPTWRITER, MARK CHRISTOPHER, IS ACTUALLY MARK C HIGHLY, DENA'S HUBBY. WHEN SHE WAS DOOL HEADWRITER, THERE WAS A "MARK CHRISTOPHER" WHO WROTE SCRIPTS. THEN WHEN JIM REILLY RETURNED TO DOOL AND SHE BECAME A SCRIPTWRITER, SHE WAS ALWAYS LISTED WITH HER HUSBAND, MARK HIGLY. I THINK SHE TOOK HUBBY TO OLTL. HE NOW SEEMS TO BE WRITING ONE SCRIPT A WEEK AND BUMPED JOHN LOPRIENO.

As for Alden, Frons approached her to Head Write for AMC and was going to be paid a lot, but she turned it down! LOL!! I believed this happened before Burton entered the picture.

Is this a more recent offer?

I know he approached her when he first came to ABC and fired Culliton.

Wow, I never made that connection!! Are you sure Mark Higley's middle name is Christopher?

PS. Why all the caps??

There was no time period specified but I'm assuming it was recent (before Burton).

Thanks.

Poor old Fronsy was getting desperate I guess, going after those writers that target the "nursing home" crowd.

Another freakin damn newbie to Y&R!!

- Tom Casiello first listed as associate head writer on September 6

Casiello was a former writer for ATWT.Combined with Paula Cwickly and Josh Griffith, that makes THREE former ATWT writers Latham has added.

She knows where to turn to find talent! ;):D

Toups, I worried about the new writers on Y&R too! John Pleshette, an actor for Knots Landing who went onto write, said that they stopped working with him because he dared to criticize their script. I wonder if thats whats happening with these Y&R writers? I've noticed lots of out of character behavior in some characters, which is probably because so many writers are new.

I'm just glad B&B picked up James Houghton! Love him!

Oh, now you're criticising her (LML)?! :D:P When I did, you were yelling at me. ;)

The Y&R writing team were always close and worked together for DECADES! Bringing in five new writers in the span of 6 months is absurd for Y&R.

I think so too. Smith will probably go back to B&B.

What surprises me is how young these people are and they really worked there for decades.

I never heard about her being approached this time but I did back in 2002/3 (when the interim writers were there pre McTavish). SHe was HW of Y&R at the time I believe--

I onlyc asually watch Y&R and I understand why people didn't liek her as HW but I hope she is able to stay on the Y&R writing team--when she's a part of it I think she's an important part (she was listed as co-headwriter on many of Bell's best years including the late 70s and the 80s when the show was restructured as well as much of the time B&B was taking up much of Bill's time)

I've heard some characters say sperm... it's sporadic, but I've heard it. I'm of the opinion "semen" is the forbidden word!

It's never consistent. Back when Erica found out that Adam switched the sperm samples back in 1999, she would ALWAYS call it "semen." Now, that wouldn't fly today. How do we regress in daytime TV?

Just like "abortion." When the whole Bianca story was going on, the preferred choice it seems was "terminate." But occasionally they would say "abortion." When Bianca told Erica she was still pregnant, they only used the word "abortion" in the surrounding episodes.

It's weird.

Then that must be an AMC thing. On GH, Lulu, Dillon, Tracy, Edward, Lucky and all the others are tossing "abortion" around like it's nothing at all.
