😂 😆 😂 Andrew showed up instead of Andre when I was swyping.

Agree with you about Earnestine. (Please note that you called her Ersentine 😂) She's been really, really good.

And you know, name of us complained like crazy about Ben Gavin, but he turned the corner with Derek in recent months, and I really think he found a place on the canvas.

I guess in one way it's good that we care who died. I'll miss him a lot more than I thought I would.

Moving him away from Ashley did wonders for the character imo.

I often wonder how much more I can dislike the characters of Vanessa and Joey but the show continues to find ways.

Agree COMPLETELY. I absolutely despise both of them.

I know I've made that clear many, many times 😂 I think they're both garbage human beings.

Oh, I realized too late. lol. As for Andrew...I know the Universe is playing games. ;)

I was always pro-Derek cuz...like I say often...every soap needs a himbo. And I definitely like, like some of the other green actors, BG did grow in the role. And he soared so much when he was AWAY from Ashley (though I wouldn't have minded him going dark the few times Derek felt like he would). I will always remember that BG seem to have chemistry with all of the women, but JJ though. Oh, and him in blue jeans.

I do like...outside of Ashley...have well-done the fallout has been so far. I also like that so many people really seem to care about who died as well. And we all seem to want it to be Tomas. hehe.

Pretty sure Doug was a fantasy but I hope it means he will come back.

Vanessa comparing dating a mobster to Nicole dating two DOCTORS is such a joke. Again they keep finding ways for me to dislike her more.

Why is everyone giving Ashley support like Derek wasn’t a complete nuisances to her?

When I mentioned Emmy nominations I was referring to how I think the producers think and who the writers want to give material that could snag a nomination. Ernestine has had some other good material this year that could go into a reel and could be surprise nomination but with CBS being owned by people who will no doubt push DEI for White people, I can BTG trying to balance balance their prenoms. Last year's material clearly showcased the Black actors more and that means this year's prenoms are going to be mostly Black.

I think Jen Jacob's performance today was decent, but still rather mild for an Emmy nomination.

I forgot to mention Andrew in my post. I agree with you -- he was really good in those scenes talking about Derek.

I found that much more worthy of Emmy submission than anything Jen Jacob did as Ashley.

Sorry for being so critical, but these grief scenes have just made it clear how mediocre she is as an actor.

That scene when Shanice looked at Ashley in the hospital to let her know Derek died? Shanice carried that scene -- completely.

Shanice, like Derek, is likable self when away from the person they're being paired with. Shame Shanice and Derek weren't given an actual try out as a short term couple since they had a good rapport with one another.

I am leaning toward fantasy as well, but yay for a Friday Cliffhanger!!!

BUT...it also goes back to all of the talking Vanessa and Donnell did about how fragile Deanna is. Could she have finally cracked?

For sure. She might be dealing with Derek's death, but Shanice the last few days has gone back to being the Shanice we first knew at the start of the show. No hint of insecurity to be seen. Love it. It is a shame they never did her and Derek.

Yeah. I didn't like her at all yesterday, but mid-episode today JJ did much much better.

I don’t want Deanna to be crazy or breaking, as I don’t support Vanessa being right about anything when she’s gaslighting her daughter.

tbf, Donnell has expressed the same concern. And it always felt like there was a history/backstory to that long before Deanna finally arrived. So I do wonder if that is what we are about to get. And also why Donnell has gone back to being anti-Joey suddenly.

I don't want any part of a Deanna breakdown if it's used to show that Vanessa was right about Joey, her parenting, or anything else.

We’re in total agreement.

I agree 100%. I do like Joey but the facts are he is completely in the wrong when it comes to Doug. To have Deanna go crazy would be a slap in the face to Doug, Deanna and the viewers. I hope whether he's a ghost or alive that they use this as a tool for her to find out the truth.

Plus the actress is too good to waste on a short term psycho storyline.

Upthread, I mentioned how Vanessa characterized Deanna to be mentally fragile but to be clear, add me to the list of people who do not want Deanna to be turned into a mentally fragile person,. Y&R (a show I no longer watch) pretty much ruined Sharon Collins Newman this way. Deanna, as portrayed by Angela Fairley is a force to be reckoned with and I want BTG to tap into that, not weaken it by turning her into this maudlin tragedy. The only way I would accept any appearance of this is if, Vanessa assumes Deanna is breaking down but Deanna is tapping into some inner sense ("inner vision") that her dad is still alive and later turns out to be correct. I don't want a ghost dad/Doug floating around, I hate that idea. I would love to see the character given another chance to restart his life, reunite with his kids, ultimately turn away from Vanessa and maybe even build a friendship (something more?) with Shanice? Unlike with Nicole and Carlton, I think Ted and Doug could genuinely maintain a friendship, even if Shanice and Doug eventually get together but only if the writing took time in building a friendship before going 'there'.

Any classic ATWT viewers here? Does anyone remember when Barbara Ryan was having these dreams and visions of meeting and falling in love with this man during some medieval/gothic era? And from what I understand (I was very very young during that storyline, so admittedly, I don't remember details), the man, who turned out to be named Gunnar, appeared in the 'real world' of Oakdale and he and Barbara did indeed fall in love.

I'm not saying to make Deanna psychic or anything but perhaps a bit clairevoyant.🤷🏾‍♀️It would add such an interesting dynamic to bring Doug back.
