Another person to work at a clinic that has no set where we dont see the day to day drama that goes on there wtih the growing staff

I hope they're planning on showing that set in the near future.

I thought Peaches was still lying up there in Garland Memorial, where they allow folks to stay for months on end, like a boarding house.

The scenes between Anita & Vernon are a painful watch but it is the one storyline that seems to be written with detail and any care. I think Tamara and Clifton are showing why they are deserving of the matriarch and patriarch of this show.

I don't have a problem with Samantha and Tyrell as a concept but it's getting harder and harder to overlook the fact that "Samantha" doesn't look her age, she looks older...noticeably, unavoidably older. At least the actor who portrays Tyrell could pass for 17, 18.

How much longer is this plasma ring storyline going to be with us? It is getting more and more ridiculous. And with Smitty trying to call the shots now? Is he a detective now? Are he and Jacob partners? Smitty, go home to your husband...if anything, you are drawing suspicion on Jacob at this point. And Jacob doesn't need any more ways to flop, he already has more than enough of his own accord. Again, I ask, what is the purpose of this entire story? Will Anita need a transfusion or something? Why should I care? Especially seeing that most of the action happens off screen.

Speaking of offscreen, some miracle will probably happen at the new clinic, but offscreen. And the clinic needs to get in line behind off screen Banneker University, which has been mentioned since the beginning and has no less than four characters who either work or attend school there, yet we still have yet to see one room inside that campus.

Dani asserting to Bill that her man is the man of the house, is a standout line and Karla delivered it deftly.

I honestly don't care about Vanessa and Temu Tony Soprano. The more Vanessa whimpers about her downtrodden existence as wife and mother (if she & Doug were really just roommates, there is this thing called a divorce, which would have at least left Doug with more dignity than he had right before his demise or thereafter), the more unseemly light Vanessa puts the whole of her existence in her marriage and life in. Just. Stop. It doesn't make Vanessa look any better in my eyes, so Vanessa, please cut the whining.

Hopefully Naomi uses her lawyerly training and doesn't let anything slip out about Jacob in front of the plasma ring street corner captain. But they make everyone on this show except Joey, look absolutely clueless.

-- The Anita/Vernon scenes were again really well done. Terrific acting.

-- I do hope we get a recovery before too many more months. I know it's played realistically, but we're facing a storyline where too many characters worry and cry about Anita all the time.

-- What kind of hair did they give June for today's show? Just no.

-- The Bill and Dani scenes offer proof that we need movement on the Hayley storyline. These "moments" between Dani and Bill are boring unless they lead to something.

-- The Vanessa/Joey love story continues to be a fail to me. The writers continually give her scenes to prop up her role as mother and to explain her cheating, but it's not working. I'm sick of her "I lost myself" crap when it's followed by "I did become a wealthy real estate mogul who dresses in designer clothes all the time." And her Prince Charming to save her is JOEY? The Golden Corral Casino Mobster???

-- Those fireplace flames shots at Joey's were hilarious.

-- Speaking of hilarious sets, there's that brick wall where Rashad/Jacob meets Smitty and the evil crew. What are Jacob and Smitty going to say if the bad guys see them talking in the corner of a brick buidling?

-- And would these plasma stealing thugs really resort to murdering someone who wanted out? And how do Jacob and Smitty find out who the main players are when all they do is stand on the corner of a brick building? This storyline is just badly, badly written.

The Hayley/Bill poisoning storyline seems to be dead in the water. At first, it was a refreshing twist. But now it has been going on for several months, and Bill seldom shows signs of even minor poisoning. What the Hell?? This plot should have been handled similar to the extremly successful Janice Frame/Mac Cory poisoning on Another World. Once the audience is clued into the truth, the action (poisoning) should move along rather swiftly. On Another World -- with Mac growing increasingly sicker, he started missing work. Then when Mac's colleagues and friends started to question Mac's health, Janice whisked him away to a Caribbean island where she planned to finish the job. At first it seemed the Haley/Bill plot was heading in a similar direction, with the couple buying a house in the Caribbean. Now the entire plot seems stuck in second-gear.

The issue with any "poisoning your spouse" plot is -- in the end, the perpetrator must either die, go to prison, or escape never to be seen again. There is really no way to redeem a character who has poisoned her/his spouse. That's just the way it is. But I'm getting the feeling TPTB at BTG are afraid to write off Ashley and lose a good actress, so they are slow walking the plot until they can find a way to redeem Ashley. Dear God in Heaven, the entire exercise has become as boring as Hell. Get on with it, or get off the pot.

I would be more interested if the Duprees had some members feuding with one another instead of the boring 'Dupree Strong' mantra. This is a soap opera, not a Hallmark Channel movie.

Anita story is pretty well written, but I don't want someone going through cancer so it's fast forward for me due to personal reasons.

Other than movement in that story.. every other story seems to be either told (not shown), dropped and resumed later on.

MVJ, I know it's her baby... but she needs to hand over reigns to someone that can actually plot out a story. Her strengths are script writing and story ideas, but the woman can't plot a story to save her life. Guza could plot a story out, and i think that's why the first six to seven months were moving at a nice pace with the three intro stories being staggered so we got payoffs (Dani going nuclear at Bill/Hayley's wedding in week 1, SPS introducing Ted to his secret daughter Eva around episode 60, Martin story peaking after that, Doug/Vanessa/Joey story hit a peak in the 120s to 130s range, Chelsea's kidnapping had seeds in the first week that came to be between episodes 100 to 130, and Hayley's reveal as a con artist/black widow wannabe at episode 150.. a perfect conclusion to Guza's stint as co-headwriter).

Thomson seems like she understands how to write certain characters (Derek, Ashley).. but she doesn't seem to be any better at pacing a story then MVJ.

And the EP situation... too many of them working on this show.. trim the fat and the money you save can be applied to building a set for the clinic and perhaps Vanessa's office (which actually could be a redress of Nicole's office).

I'm going to co-sign all of this.

Can't disagree with a single point.

The only way I could the Duprees fighting each other is if Anita or Vernon have a cousin or sibling who are the matriarch or patriarch of their particular side. Whoever the cousin or sibling and their subsequent kids and grandkids are would have to be lower middle class and less bougie.

Otherwise creating an entirely separate core family will be the way to go.

The problems with daytime soaps today imo, is that we have the same incestuous circle of people, many of whom were at the helm of some soaps when they had enormous ratings drops or met their ratings demise. Why can't we get someone fresh with fresh ideas? Primetime and streaming seems to manage this much better. The old experience excuse never sat right with me. Throughout decades these soaps would have had access to graduates from pre-professional dramatic writing programs at USC, Columbia, Tisch, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, etc. yet they chose the same circle of burn outs. And then wonder why there are only 3-4 soaps on network broadcast television these days. Widen the circle, already.🤷🏾‍♀️

I have to chuckle because the internet was not having June's wig today. They are going off.

Jasmine Burke is so beautiful herself, but June is supposed to be coming back from being UN-housed, I will cut them some slack. The wig is bad though.

I've been ghostwriting all types of books professionally for years. I would love the gig! How do you sign up? No, seriously - how? I've been writing professionally since certain writers were nothing more than online soap fan boys (IYKYK).
