Robin being practically shunned out of town by Jason and Sonny was awful. While the initial lie about AJ made some sense for Carly the show should have worked harder to make a more even playing field after the truth came out.

Yeah, I remember that being my complaint when I was young as well. Because even then, it felt so slanted against Robin. And I wanted Robin to slap Carly. But thanks to you posting one of their confrontations a few years back, I clearly didn't remember how great Robin was with her words.

I would assume the idea was to get Ingo and Vanessa back at the time. Brenda was back a year or so later, so rebooting Jax was kind of a moot point in the end. Nothing Jax did in that year really changed the character or was memorable. I guess romancing Skye, but I believe that was only ramped up once the show knew they had secured Vanessa.

Of course, Brenda got to have some woman to outshine. ;)

I could see that though. It does make him moot to a reboot.

It’s actually kind of amazing, he still has so many that are alive. Now granted Michael has been put through absolute hell as his son and Kristina as his daughter, but you’d think with how they love to tell us how dangerous his life is, they wouldn’t have killed another one off.

Now there's an idea that hasn't been tried with Sonny.

I always felt like Robin was the one woman who really intimidated Carly. She's smart, pretty, Sonny and Jason love her, the town adores her, she has tons of friends, etc. Carly always felt inferior to her. It's probably my favorite Carly rivalry. While I like Brenda/Carly as foes there really isn't that much history there besides sleeping with the same men. I don't think Carly respects Brenda and I think she secretly respects Robin.

Both are obviously better than LW's Carly screeching at women that go near Sonny or Jason today lol.

To your second point, I feel like Skye's inclusion in the Brenda return was another attempt at shoehorning the character in and gaining sympathy for poor Skye. Jax didn't need to marry her for conflict. Brenda faked her death weeks before Jax/Brenda's wedding, hid for 4 years, shacked up with Alcazar, thinks she's dying, Jax gets shot and paralyzed, Brenda marries Jason, Sonny's hanging around, Alcazar is still stalking her, and so on. That's a ton of conflict right there. Jax didn't need a wife in the mix especially when he dumps about 10 min after Brenda returned.

Welp, I guess the inevitable Brad return happened.

I warned you all it was a matter of hours, not days!

So I understand intellectually why Lulu doesn't want her teenage daughter to have any contact with her father or her teenage son to have any contact with his surrogate mother. But watching both stories play out at the same time is exhausting. I used to feel like she was just smothering her kids, but now as she keeps playing the same scenes over and over again 2-3 times a week, I feel like she's smothering me.

Britt is no surrogate. She stole Lulus embryo. She wanted Patrick, not a baby. If Liz hadn't found tge truth. Rocco should have learned Britts role from her and said ok, thanks bye

As I said, intellectually, I know all of this. I just don't care very much. I don't especially like Britt, but the character is at least sometimes entertaining. Which is more than I can say for Lulu these days.

Ha! I thought of you when he showed up.

It only took him 7 months to run out of money. He and Jacinda really need a class on budgeting blackmail gains.

Yeah, I get your point. It's a shame both these stories are happening at the same time. It makes Lulu look like a weird helicopter mom that won't let her kids do anything even if she has valid reasons. The show has written Lulu poorly and tried to make her the heavy in almost every situation since her return so it's not surprising.

Alexa Havins is so good but it really is a shame the writers took away all the spunk and fun.

I told you all I wasn't crazy for my conspiracy theory here! Jet fuel can't melt BLQ's steel slacks!
