-- Lauren Bugoli (Vanessa) is 38. Jon Lindstron (Joey) is 68. So it's really rich for Joey to insult Dani multiple times about the age difference between her and Andre, including calling him her boy toy.

-- BTW, Karla Mosley (Dani) is 44 and Sean Freeman (Andre) is 36.

-- Town Mattress Vanessa thinks she got rid of Donnell. My guess is he turns up next week because he changed his mind about returning to college. He'll catch her hoeing with Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey.

-- Did Hayley decorate Ashley's apartment? Yikes, that place is bad.

-- What the hell was that food on the plates of Chelsea and Madison at the country club??? Did someone cut up a carrot and say "We'll pretend this is dinner"?t

-- Chelsea doesn't need Allison to blow up her life with Madison -- she'll do it herself. Seriously, she is so immature and unaware, and has little respect for Madison.

-- In short order, Naomi has become really unlikable. The way she's talking to and treating Jacob is appalling. I hope he leaves her.

-- How does Naomi not know who Izaiah is? Did I miss something? Has she never seen photos of Jacob's family?

-- It's good we're getting a confrontation between Ted and Carlton. Let's face it -- Carlton violated everything about Bro Code. He's trash.

-- Previews show Samantha and Nathan ready to hook up on the family couch? She is so clueless she doesn't take him to her room before letting him get down to his tank top? I think June better give her some more lessons about boys, because this girl is dumb.

Naomi actually recognized Izaiah though. Where did you get that she didn’t?

Jacob's brother when first mentioned months ago was named Luke. He was described, at the time, as also being a cop. I assume this may have been changed, and Luke is now known as Izaiah with a different career background. Unless, of course, there are three Hawthorne brothers instead of two. I wouldn't mind that being the case.

Yeah, I screwed up on that.

Those are the actors ages, not the characters. Dani is at least 50 with someone half her age. Vanessa is supposed to be around her age too and Joey might be as young as 60. Either way a 50 something year old woman with an older man is not the same as a 20 something with an older woman. The maturity and life experience is a major differene

Thanks for explaining the difference between actor ages and character ages. I never realized any of that!

Hopefully there are three Hawthorne brothers; Luke, Jacob, and Izaiah. Older cop Luke who’s more in tune with his fathers dirty dealings, Jacob who is the favorite and sees everything in black or white, and Izaiah the black sheep of the family because he didn’t follow in his father and brothers footsteps.

I like this. It sounds very well put together.

I didn't take it as Joey trying to insult Dani. I took it as Joey pointing out the fact she's being a hypocrite since she's got a younger man.

Btw I also think that coming from Joey these comments are absurd. So I agree with your statement.

Yeah, I was about to say...haven't we heard Luke by name on screen and know he's a cop somewhere in the police department? Meanwhile Mama Hawthorne is on the switchboard in the department. So Izaiah is not a retcon, but another brother in a big family...more than likely not mentioned since he is probably the only one NOT into being part of the police life thus the black sheep? Just another reason why I've been theorizing since the show started that the Hawthornes would be the second family introduced on this show?

But I'm sure we will get clarify soon since

Spoiler

Daddy Hawthorne appears next week.

Willow Montgomery? Interesting. And it is a shame that her impulses have caused Madison's professional career to take the hits it has. That is so unfortunate.

Madison's mom story reminds me of my friend who is a decent guy stuck with MAGA parents.

Vanessa is now trying to be a good mother, but sometimes it comes too little too late.

No, she's not. She wants to f%ck Joey without judgment from her upstanding son. She's just being the whore she is while staying innocent in her son's eyes.

Speaking of retcons, remember when Randy said he had a wife and kids to Joey?

Randy lied about a lot of things - the Hayley connection, and maybe that he is hiding Doug...

Mona bible thumping is another point against her.. and considering she's not married, not in a relationship, nor has a child... Nicole nor any other married/divorce person shouldn't listen to her.

I agree. She's so entitled.

These endless surprises and twists are exhausting. I'm not talking about Hayley. I'm talking - in general. About the whole show and the style of storytelling. I'm just seeing how people are expecting more and more twists and hidden secrets and I'm really dizzy at this point.

I feel the same. I'm like 'ok what's this week's shocking twist'?
I'd rather follow a story from A to B but so far they haven't really had 'storylines', apart from the initial Leslie story. They've just had multiple events happening and the aftermath in-between.

It was so distracting; almost as distracting as O.G. Ted's swaying.

LMAO I thought the same thing.

So any great-looking Black guy with braids or cornrows is going to be a "fake ass Shemar alert"?

Glad I'm not the only one finding that comparison highly problematic.

-- The use of "penis" in the opening scene was eye-opening, and I thought, "Good for them for going for it."

-- By the end of the show, however, it was an exercise in excess. We get it. BTG says "penis penis penis" over and over and is adult and edgy.

-- This show is so edgy we can use words like penis and hard and wood and make a ton of double entendres to make the audience howl!!

-- Sorry, but it was all too much -- typical Ron Carlivati episode.

Big agree. Want to be edgy? Have Jacob fall for Smitty. Have Naomi get an abortion and take no prisoners. You get my point.

A couple of things I wanted to point out:

- Hayley's story is being played for camp, I assume;

- is it me or you can tell Tracey Thomson's impact already? Friday's show had different camera angles and a different vibe altogether. They had more background music... I liked it.

- for the life of me I don't get what the problem is with Samantha having a sexual life. She'll be in college in a couple of yeas. Sooner or later she ought to have sex. So? Why are her parents worrying so much? For a show that proclaims to be so edgy, feminist, sex-positive and progressive, the way they're worrying about Samantha's verginity seems straight out of a '50s show. Especially considering that nobody is worrying at all about her brother Tyrell's sexual life, let alone virginity. Double standard much? Just educate the girl about contraception, STDs and sex versus feelings and let her begin her sexual life like any normal human being!

Nah this one is a rewrite if they change this bc Doug and Vanessa would know if he had a kid and baby mama (it wasnt a wife). I also dont think thats something he'd be able to lie about to Joey bc he was watching him
