Hayley is closely following the "All About Eve" playbook of manipulation and opportunism. She spins a sob story about her struggles and acts like a pitiful, lonely orphan. Once she gets taken in by the sympathetic rich folks, she starts leeching her way deeper into their lives and home. Naomi opened the door, everyone else greeted her, but she ended up in Bill's bed.

Now she’ll push her scheme even further. What’s her endgame? Who knows... If done right, these characters are layered and complex. They’re not just one-dimensional villains. Way more than Leslie and her shtick. I just hope they stick to the long game.

P.S. I give them credit for taking their time with this. From day one, it was clear to me that Hayley was one of the most crucial characters. She was the ultimate wannabe, a dark cloud coming into town, triggering chaos and destruction. Positioning her in centre of drama in the first five episodes signaled to me that MVJ has a VERY big plan for her. That's why I was beginning to get restless in waiting. But they didn’t let me down.

OMG I would so die if it turns out this was intentional from the damn start. I always loved it because it was so unique from the others.

It did seem oddly placed, but now hmmm. But IKR. :)

The twist is good but turning Hayley into a total scheming villianess is limiting in some ways. We will all now be waiting for her comeuppance whereas if she were a little more grey then there would be more mileage. Hayley needed more colors, for sure, but too make her so calculating?

Especially as Leslie is running  in the same lane.

Indeed she is. But gray characters get comeuppance, too. I feel she has more legs now though like I said earlier...she was only a spoiler for a couple. As for waiting...that's the nature of soaps.

This is my issue.  I admit sometimes I don't watch the show super closely but I thought Hayley was a *childhood* or at least teenage friend of Naomi's??  Wasn't part of the betrayal that as an orphan she kinda grew up in their household or at least was always around?  But now it seems retconned to Naomi befriending her at the gym (presumably as adults?)  I mean she had to be an adult right if she had already grifted in similar ways several men as she said today?

As has been mentioned, a lot of us thought that as well. It was definitely mentioned she was an orphan. But it seem like she had been around longer than a few years. Definitely long enough to be taken in by the family, be helped by Dani, and being Naomi's BFF. Add on the Dani/Bill flashback of Dani being the one to set up Bill's office and a few more questions spring.

Her endgame is the come-up. ;) But I'm sure it can develop more and that, unlike Silk Press Sheila, this development might finally do so for Hayley.

Hope they play this to the full potential.

Missed opportunities, changes of plan , maybe someone taking Bill's medicine by mistake, Hayley almost getting caught or blackmailed by someone.

Dani and Bill need to stay apart but always with that chance of reconciliation. They're more interesting apart than than together.

Ted is just annoying now.

Kat looks so much better dressed and styled as a woman and not a dressup doll.

Same.

Someone already made a comment they hope that Tomas take that medicine by accident. ;)

Totally agree. I feel the only reason anyone could be invested in Dani or Bill was because they had separate storylines going on after Month 1, allowing for them to be developed. So watching now has been great. But I don't want them together as of yet, though that fire and chance of reconciliation is there.

Very. Come on, June. Save that man from the psycho.

I agree 💯. This is how I wish it goes too. With some surprise here and there.

TBH...I was getting bored with Hayley. I did suspect she faked her pregnancy, of course, as it was heavily implied. But, she'd been coming off as a naive, clueless little trophy wife. NOW, I can't wait to see what she does next. I think the best part down the road will be having a guy like Bill finding out he'd been played the whole time just because he thought with his nether regions versus his brain. THAT will be fun to see!

Plus they have a new co-EP and head writer so I’m curious to see what a fresh set of eyes can do for the show. I agree with what was said above about not wanting too many “one-note” villains. Soaps always used to give us great female characters who were bad but complex (Nicole from DAYS, Phyllis from Y&R) come to mind.

I don’t mind the odd villain who is just evil to the bone like Sheila Carter but you can’t have too much of that & definitely not all the time. It needs to be balanced.

With everyone questioning the timeline for Hayley making inroads into the Dupree family and how they assumed she had known the family for a long time.  I think we just assumed that, but Derek had previously mentioned that he/Ashley were just getting to know her when the whole affair with Bill went down.  And it has been stated that Ashley had known Naomi for a long time and that Derek/Jacob had been friends for a long time... so had Hayley been in the picture a long time, Derek/Ashley would have known her better.

Also, did we all forget how quickly Naomi helped June out?  It was a mere few months and now June is making friends with the other Duprees so I can buy Hayley being quickly welcomed with open arms into the Dupree family.

Also, remember that Nicole hired Eva as her personal assistant and quickly treated her like part of the family all because of a good reference from Mona.  And let's remember that Mona had only known SPS and Eva for at least a year or so.

I think the Duprees are to blame for all these grifters and cons being pulled on them because they're too trusting.  You'd think they would be a little more leery of June considering what Hayley/Ted/Eva all have pulled on them LOL

Just when I was ready to give up... they pulled me back in. That's the way to do it. Fingers crossed the ratings sizzle. Daytime needs to heat up. And then in a year or two... we NEED to see a reboot of AMC or a brand new soap altogether.  Pop Tv Please GIF by One Day At A Time
