The Sophia storyline is interesting to me because usually in a story like this, the Sophia character would be at least semi-competent at lying. There's something kind of hilarious about 1980's action hero Steve Johnson using his PI skills to attempt to take down the nervous 18 year old girl who does Tex Avery-style wild takes if you talk to her for more than 30 seconds.

That’s a hilarious visual and exactly why it feels so off watching two middle-aged men interrogate a co-ed instead of doing what men their age usually do: play golf, wear quarter-zips, and pretend to understand streaming services.

Honestly, if anyone in Salem had the range, they’d be lobbying to expand access to prenatal care for women of all ages. Maybe then the men wouldn’t be so consistently clueless about contraception, gestation, and the basic mechanics of reproduction. But no—better to grill Sofia over breakfast than confront the fact that half the town still thinks storks are involved.

Also, what's the end game for Tate, Brady, and Steve?  Sofia did nothing illegal.  So, are they just looking for bragging rights over an 18-year-old?  None of them want to raise the baby.  They made Sofia withdraw her application to better colleges.  Now, what else do they want from this girl?

I’m really enjoying “Days” right now! Sure, some stories are working better than others but what’s really stood out to me over the past month are the character interactions. Salem feels like a community again which makes a solid base for story creation.

Provided the HWs keep this momentum, I feel like they’re onto something as they begin to tie up Ron’s stories and go full steam into their own. I’m encouraged.

I don't think it's unreasonable for Tate to want to know what actually happened to his child, or for Brady to want to know what happened to his grandchild. Especially since Sophia is very clearly lying about something. And now there's a very specific child who could actually be that child -- it doesn't seem crazy or unfair to want that information.

I'm still unclear how Sophia would've been able to give up this baby for adoption without the legal consent of the biological father, but that's another story...

Why on earth would a normally responsible mother not only forget to bring her child to daycare, but then forget she was there entirely, walk into work, and then proceed to work for 20 minutes?  Schedules change all the time and I assume she put the child into the car and children aren't generally silent.

These links explain how a parent can forget their child is in the car

There was a lot of Javi and Leo today, and surprisingly, and for like the first time ever lol, I didn't mind it. Now that we know the truth about Javi's baby, and also why he decided to become a paramedic, I'm a little interested in seeing what happens next. I really believe that this storyline wouldn't be happening if Ron was writing and I'd like to see what's going to play out. They still need to get Javi away from Leo though.

In regards to Leo and Javi; Paula/Jeanne are miracle workers, because normally I would’ve fast forwarded those scenes. lol

Oh I totally agree!

I don't think the Javi story belongs on DAYS. Maybe I'd feel differently if Al Calderon could carry the story, but he couldn't. He was awful in those scenes and there's no way to sugarcoat it.

Same here 😂

I think that making this part of the storyline so centered around Javi was the right move as well, despite the acting. And the fact that I probably wouldn’t have picked this storyline for Javi either lol

But he’s becoming his own character and I really like that.

That’s the one of the best things about the new team; Days feels like Days again  instead of some cruel, toxic joke.

Happy Birthday Victoria!

I liked all the nice little family moments at the birthday party. I have mixed feelings about Sarah trying to get Philip to confess that Xander beat him up though. I thought she had gotten past that already. I figured that by this point, they would've moved on to the next dynamic in all of this.

And, welcome back Kate! I'm glad that she finally got to share a scene with her great-granddaughter too. They actually worked pretty well together and I definitely wouldn't mind Ari going to work for Titan. And I like that Ari was there to counsel Sophia as well. She could add a very interesting dynamic to 'the Sophia trying to get Tate back' storyline.

Speaking of Tate, I understood his POV, both with Holly and Sophia and I don't mind it but, again, those scenes were hurt by Leo Howard not being able to play angry all that well. When he was shouting at Holly, I didn't feel anything lol he really needs to work on that. I like the conflict brewing between him and Holly though. Holly came off as a little selfish (again) today and I think that can lead to something really good happening in this storyline.

And yeah, it was a little strange that Alex held a press conference in the town square, but whatevs. That's typical Days lol

Today was so boring. Cwikly & Ford have been credited since April. I would expect that by now they would have found their rhythm and the stories would gel more.

First, we need to get past that this book is already a bestseller, so why would the next one come out so quickly?  And doesn't Stephanie have a contract?

Then, the Titan offices are underused in these circumstances.  But, you have to keep in mind that the square is the only place Tony could show up without the need for extra exposition about how he got inside the press conference.

Personally, I still recall that press conference Tony (or maybe it was Andre?) called where they let that lion loose.  So, if I were nearby, I might head in the other direction once Tony veered toward the mic.

Finally, one moment for the absurd map of Salem.  Does Tate study for classes in the bookstore because it is next to his job, or does Salem U not have a library?

The bookstore is going to become a joke of a set.

We're going to see the same extras hanging around in there all the time, staring at pages of a book. There's no reason at all for college kids to hang there.

I thought the bookstore was something for Julie to do? Apparently she'll be there once a month to dust the World Book Encyclopedia.

I think for the bookstore to work the focus of it should be on a coffee care within the store. That way you can justify people hanging out there. I'd all be for a new set...finally!

The show is sorely lacking another male in the Tate-age range. He's the only one! And, there's no one for Ari at all!
