That could work.

And it would give us a reason why awful demon Rachel has suddenly been acting like a human 😂

I can't be the only one seeing how she's playing coy and telling on everyone but herself?

Or am I delusional and think way too much of the writers?

I figured the new writers were just flushing some more of Ron's crap. There was no reason for Rachel to be written like that, even if she was Kristen's child.

I'll have to pay closer attention now.

I guess I'm the only one who kind of enjoyed demon seed Rachel, but I just can't otherwise make sense of her total personality switch. It could be as you said that the new writers just didn't like that direction for the character and changed it.

Either way, with the actress going to Little House on the Prairie soon, I kind of assume she'll be sent off to the Boarding School of SORAS for a few years before returning as a teen.

No you’re not alone. Demon seed Rachel was perfect as a DiMera. This new portrayal is so whiny.

Damn. So all that interest I had in Chad and Cat on Friday just went out the window.

Chad, keeping the secret from Cat that he didn't support Mark getting paroled would have been a much better story than him possibly going against Jack and Jennifer and not contesting the parole. Honestly, it kinda makes all three of them look bad. I'm actually starting to wonder that, after years of Chad and Abigail being disregarded, and years of sexual harassment lol, if this was the storyline that prompted Billy Flynn to leave.

And while I enjoyed Philip and Xander putting up a united front against Gabi, I hope that this isn't the end of the conflict between the two brothers. There's still a lot of drama that can be mined from that. Drama that can also be manipulated by Gabi or somebody.

Btw, @j swift, you were right about EJ and Gwen. I am a little curious about what their ultimate goal is though.

If that ends up being the reason, I'm glad they did it. Even though she is Kristen's daughter, it was just so obvious that Ron wrote her like that because he thinks it's funny when the kids are awful, obnoxious little s*its. He did the same thing on GH.

Jen is coming off like a shrew in all this.  I don't know if it's my personal thoughts on Missy, the writing, or both.    I have always preferred Missy to Cady's Jen, but I feel like Jen is more compassionate than this.  I think her and Jack's points are valid.  I have also seen Jen and Jack be much more willing to forgive people.

I don't think anyone believes Mark is going to run around and start killing people.  This is a show that has let serial killers out after a few years.

I actually don't find this Cat/Chad story that bad.  I mean, it's bad, but Chad's had worse stories lol.  Probably the culmination of years of issues and a new oppurtunity popping up for him made Billy bolt for now.  I'd be shocked if this was the last we saw of Billy Flynn as Chad.  It's a shame because I do think ALM and BF have some chemistry and I do think ALM is a likeable performer.

I like the slow burn of the Cat / Chad storyline. Often we get rushed storylines but they're taking their time at least.

Poor Julie (and JJ and Patch) must have gotten the runs from the birthday cake. They disappeared fast. Would have loved to see Julie react to the Chad/Jennifer/Jack conflict.

Maybe Cwikly and Ford will find their way. Such random out of nowhere stuff. Johnny’s a professor. (Huh!)  EJ’s a hospital administrator. Kat works for EJ. Thumbs down.

I don’t have a problem with Jack and Jennifer’s reaction. Their daughter was brutally murdered and now their son in law is cozying up and defending the woman who pretended to be their dead daughter.

Certainly, the entire Greene family owes an apology to the Hortons.

I get Cat's side of the story, but I don't think she's offered a significant note of regret to Abby's parents.  And just treating Julie and Jennifer like annoying in-laws, rather than victims of Cat's fraud, would go a long way to make her more appealing as a character.

It’s kind of amazing that the Horton/Devereauxs are supposed to look bad for not just hand waving away what Cat and the Greenes did.

I remember there was another actor playing an Ob/Gyn when the Nicole/Sloan baby switch initially occurred, but didn't Dr. Mark Greene switch a DNA test for Sloan, which Kayla found out about right before he shot Chad?

I liked that actor, but Dr Greene should definitely never practice medicine again (neither should Sarah, but that's another story...).

Also, that summer video preview gave way too much away, way too far in advance for my taste, and I regret watching it at this point.  Because I feel too far ahead of where the story is going based on the video and other contractual information that was announced by the production when certain characters were introduced.  For example, today's cliffhanger, and the summer preview, are all we need to know what is going to happen for the next two months.  For me, it gets to the point where it feels like we are marking time waiting for a twist that seems too heavily foreshadowed, even by those avoiding spoilers.

For example, I guessed that Rachel shot EJ as soon as she admitted remembering seeing Johnny with the gun back in July.  But, I talked myself out of it based on the other scenes, and my belief that production would not want to show an image of a little girl holding a gun in 2025.  However, I was incorrect, and it was shocking and fun to watch.  Whereas the entire EJ/Gwen story has been foretold fairly heavy handedly.  I mean, we didn't need to see Gwen carrying shopping bags for weeks to know that her wealth was going to be used as a plot point.  I realize that I watched the preview video, months ago at this point, but I feel like there are few surprises left.  Hope springs eternal, but I won't be watching the fall preview (until I eventually breakdown and watch it.)
