I fear the Ric plot will fall victim to this bloated canvas. We've seen him, what, once since they tied him up? I wish they had roped Carly into this somehow. In fact I would have replaced Kristina with Carly. Krissy already has an attempted murder charge looming, she doesn't need kidnapping on top it. I don't even like Carly much but these scenes would've had some real bite and earned history with Carly in the mix.

Carly being part of the story would make way too much sense.

Still and my catch-up...and I realized (even though I was a BIG Charles Mesure fan cuz THE MAGICIANS...AND V...AND XENA...AND...you get it. ) that I do think that I have warmed to Chris's version of Brennan. Even though the writers continue to play the stupid Spy vs Spy beat with him and Anna, I saw something different in their recent scenes that made me go hmmm. Also it seem like they are finally setting up for his drama with Joss to blow up his relationship with Carly. That said...he does seem surprisingly isolated. But that's been the same for his whole relationship with Carly.

The story reminds me of what AMC did when they had to deal with some poor writing choices for Skye and Janet and when they were trying to find their way with Erica after the drugs story ended. The whole witches of Pine Valley plot where they held Kinder prisoner. 

OMG!!! YES!!! Great minds. I've slowly getting into the Ric plot and that was what was immediately coming to mind. But I have such fun memories of Erica/Janet/Skye (Carrie Genzel was my first Skye). So I really would love to see where this ends up in a month's time (when the time is up on the money staying in Ric's possession). Could Alexis and Ava actually become...FRIENDS? Or even Kristina? I am intrigued.

I worry about that as well. They already quickly cut the Liz/Ric/Ava/Cody storyline just as it was really getting some traction. It easily could have went on a little bit longer.

I don’t follow him and wasn’t watching Ron wreck havoc on DAYS. So it was a surprise when I saw them. He is just one of those people that they do not suit him at all.

If the writers room wasn’t too busy doing some excellent 1980’s cocaine they found in the walls somewhere, maybe the breakneck pace and constant twists would have at least the slightest connections. I mean Korte was there for the Panic Room, and Carly is the perfect character to have been roped into the Ric story. It a natural connection.

I am on record saying I don’t hate Joss as a WSB agent. If she is going to be there and they are still determined to shove her down our throats, at least she isn’t in a baby switch story or another pairing like Dex where they just roll around together all day. It does work in GH logic- Frisco was in a band, then dragged his untrained girlfriend on assignments. Anna and Sean were double agents that ended up back in the WSB/law enforcement, etc. But the fact that Joss is the one telling Vaughn to grab the knife and reminding him about mission protocols is just too stupid even for this story. This is a show that had Casey the Alien and had Cassadines trying to freeze the world- I can get on board with a lot. But they have to meet me at least halfway.

I just would much rather see scheming spoiled socialite Joss, whoever is in the role. Eden has a facility for comedy, not heavy drama. The main youth story at this point should be Gio, Emma, Trina and Hottie To Be Named Later. It's money left on the table.

Scheming rich girl is what Joss always should have been.  I have no idea why the show went with heroine for her. 

Because heaven forbid the lead female character's daughter be anything, but squeaky clean...even though said lead female character's history would support such a plausible story direction idea.

I think because she's Carly's daughter. 

The other problem is Eden is just unlikeable onscreen, to me anyway, so I don't know if she could pull off the layers.

Laura Wright recently returned to SOM. In the clip I saw, MB said that CM didn't work out as Brennan

I actually like her as Carly 2.0 because she really does feel like she’d be the daughter of Laura Wright’s version of Carly, but not Sarah or Tamaras. Eden and Laura actually feel like daughter and mother to me when they’re in scenes together. The WSB thing is just the silly stuff I expect from soaps now. And I’m actually excited to see what Jason does with this knowledge and already disliking Brennan.  I can’t imagine he has more loyalty to Joss than Carly but we’ll see.

Drew realizing he couldn’t tell them he had blackmail material in his safe actually made me chuckle.
