I had almost forgot that Martin/Eva had a bit of a connection at the start of the SilkPress storyline as well as post-anniversary party. And it was nice to see it again today. They have nice chemistry and it would give another layer to the Eva/Kat rivalry even though Martin and Kat have already discussed his feelings on Eva.

They need to keep their foot on the gas with these interactions. You can’t build these sorts of relationships between characters with these sporadic meetings.

I agree. There are so many that beg to be develop. Martin/Eva. Hayley/Caroline. We hadn't had a Andre/Kat scene in forever and they were suppose to be closer than Martin/Kat. Heck, Ted has not had a lot of scenes with Martin or Kat really. Which makes Bill's scenes with Naomi and Chels stand out even more. Smitty outside of Martin's bubble and not as the parent is another one. So many come to mind.

The show is too tightly focused on the storylines they intend to tell (or restricted by budget/actor guarantees) to let the canvas breathe. Those character moments will only make those same stories richer. The show tends to primarily allow those moments at big events.

I'm not going to start referring to a daytime soap opera in seasons lol. Idk why there's this push for that online all of a sudden. I'm aware they exist in terms of BTS planning but in terms of how we perceive and view them there is none with the current soaps.

I'm trying to remember how recent this became? I know BOLD has done it for at least a decade, not sure about GH and others 

I've never heard any GH fans, etc. discuss them in terms of that. The only time it's come up that I know of (including with DAYS) is in regards to backstage stuff like renewals, the length of a current renewal, etc. which is normal.

I think some recent fans try to fit daytime into the box of normal streaming TV and it's just not going to happen lol. I am not opposed to future soaps having seasons or seasonal arcs, like PC - I think it may be the only way forward long-term - but as for our current daytime soaps, they do not function like that narratively or as an overall viewing experience.

Plus it's confusing as hell.  They've been saying the 200 episodes of Beyond the Gates are being "dragged out with periodic reruns" so "Season 2" can commence in January like Y&R and B&B.  But then the other day, I saw where Y&R and B&B are now premiering their "new seasons".  So which is it?  lol.
