CBS has officially launched a promo campaign highlighting the upcoming crossover, featuring cast members from “The Young and the Restless” appearing as their Genoa City characters on “Beyond the Gates.”
The four-episode event, first announced in January following a taping at the show’s Atlanta-based studio, formally kicks off on Tuesday, June 9, according to TV Insider, and runs through Friday, June 12.
In an exclusive first look published by the outlet, fans can expect to see disaster on the horizon as the Newmans, the Abbots and the Winters families descend on Barrington County for a fundraiser taking place at the Fairmont Crest Country Club in honor of Congressman Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon).
Vernon Welcomes Victor
Things kick off when longtime close friends Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and the powerful patriarch of the Newman family, the legendary Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), reunite. In the story, Victor has backed Vernon’s political campaigns over the years while Vernon has championed legislation benefiting Newman Enterprises, an alliance built on loyalty, influence, and mutual gain. Now, Vernon has asked Victor to serve as the keynote speaker at his grandson’s fundraiser.
In the promo, Vernon greets Victor, who has just landed by helicopter, before the two head to the event in a private vehicle driven by Vernon’s driver.
Awkward Moments / Promising Beginnings
Though Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) arrive at the country club and have an awkward encounter with Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) and Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), things seem to be on the upswing when the heads of the Abbott family meet with Vernon and his wife, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie). Meanwhile, their son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), a longtime friend of Martin’s from their college days in New York City, has a promising encounter with Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings).
Uninvited Guest
There’s an uninvited guest who has made their way into the festivities, though it’s not who one might expect. Meanwhile, a concerned Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) closes ranks with the Dupree extended family as they deal with what’s happening around them, beyond the celebration, with a room full of reporters who are always at the ready, itching for a scandal.
Diaster Strikes
A tornado watch has been issued for Barrington County, and with it, lives hang in the balance, passions are reignited, and a potential new romance between Kyle and Hayley will have dire consequences should it be revealed to the wrong party. Plus, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) tests Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom).
How This Crossover Differs From Past Ones
Though the second-ever crossover event between “Beyond the Gates” and “The Young and the Restless,” with Bryton James (Devon Winters) marking the first time in an August 2025 episode, this will be the third time overall that the new soap opera has crossed paths with a CBS sibling, following a crossover event with “The Bold and the Beautiful” in October 2025, which saw Thorsten Kaye appear as his Ridge Forrester character from the half-hour drama series.
Speaking about the crossover with TV Insider, executive producer Sheila Ducksworth explained that while this isn’t the first time the CBS soaps have done a crossover, this one is much bigger in execution.
“You’ve seen little kernels of stuff,” Ducksworth says. “We’ll talk about Forrester, and we’ll talk about different characters, and we’ve even had some of the characters come over in a smaller way for an episode, but you’re going to see a multi-episode display of the Newmans and the Abbotts and everybody on the show really intermingled with our Duprees, and it is going to be big, and I mean big.” She adds, “What happens in these episodes is so compelling, and then what happens as a result of what happens in these episodes is epic. That is all I can say. It is epic.”
Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman Winters) will also be in attendance, joining “The Young and the Restless” co-stars to Braeden, Bergman, Walters, Mealor and James.
