The few bright spots for me are Audra, Kyle, Claire and Holden. Oh, I almost forgot, I am really loving the new costume designers work. After that, I've got nothing.

Everything about the Cane return is bad, including the couch.

First Cane secretly acquires mega wealth in 6 years with the help of his father, a drifter who was always struggling to make any real money.

Tries to worm his way back to Lily by lying to her and his kids. Smart move.

Wants to buy up all the companies. That will really endear him to GC residents.

Claims someone was trying to kill him. What happened to that?

Expects people to head to the train tracks to pay him a visit.

With a vast reservoir of talented people available to work for him - aligns with two numbskulls like Billy and Phyllis, who have a series of failed business ventures behind them.

Guess little Sam is playing with Christian...

-- Josh Griffith is notorious for offscreen stuff, but these offscreen funerals -- for major characters -- are so ridiculous, so fu_cking embarrassing, that I have no words.

-- Why is Sally dressed like a stripper when she's running "in the park"?

-- Yes, Zuleyka Silver has been pretty popular as Audra. But can something HAPPEN with this character? She goes from company to company, never really getting anywhere. We're supposed to see her as some brilliant businesswoman, but she's not. She cannot keep a job and she cannot get/keep a man.

Audra said "Nate slept on the couch."

You mean this penthouse suite that Nate owns has only one bedroom?

Tbf the house I’m renting has 4 bedrooms and we only have a bed in the primary lol.

The show is a streaming pile of rubbish creatively, but I think @Errol mentioned this on X weeks ago, there have been some production changes that do make the show look a little more cinematic when they try. The lighting design is very different than what it was just a year ago. JFP’s influence in the booth? The production did improve (with all the show’s limits) when Ed Scott came back, and it looks like some of that stuck. It’s also obvious when better directors like Owen Renfroe and Sally McDonald direct and the angles/movements they use.

The sets issue is still a major problem amongst many other things though.

-- I agree with all of this. The look of the show is really good, reminiscent of old school Y&R. The limite number of sets is a big problem. If B&B can double their studio square footage from 30,000 to 60,000, then something should be done for Y&R.

-- Direction is fine, although the excessive number of two-person scenes gives us a loT of stagnant filming.

-- This past week, I thought Sean Dominic did a great job in Nate's scenes with Audra and Devon. It's the best he's been in a while.

-- The Alexander Dumas story has been so bad in so many ways, but Billy Flynn has really strong chemistry with Christal Khalil.

Tristan Rogers' final appearance on Y&R
to air Tuesday August 26, 2025 USA (Monday August 25 Canada)

Spoiler

The story behind the episode sees Colin’s son, Cane (Billy Flynn), revealing details about his time away from Genoa City, including details about his father’s death, which up to this point had been referenced as an off screen event.

more (including a tribute from Jess Walton) at this link:
https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/69300-article‘the-young-and-the-restless’-announces-final-television-appearance-for-late-actor-tristan-rogers/

Edit to add:  I know this is a spoiler, but I personally chose to make an exception and post this -- because so many posters here said they have stopped watching, and they might want to watch just for Tristan.  The admins can delete/edit if need be, of course.

I feel that Tristan is due the honor.

Edit again: Per the Canadian recappers' screenshots, this appears to be new footage filmed at some point in the past few months before he passed away.

Why is every storyline about business with this show? It's ridiculous. This show is called The Young and the Restless and all they do is talk about is who's taking over who's business. Where are the love stories??? Sally & Billy hooking up is not that.

What about star-crossed lovers and rooting for the character from the wrong side of the tracks?

As I have mentioned before there is potential with Holden, Audra, Kyle, and Claire. Why not do an actual story for Nick & Sharon trying to reconcile?

I just need for Y&R to do better. I don't understand how JG thinks the drivel he has been putting out for years is enjoyable.

He thinks it works because Y&R fans refuse to stop watching the show. I myself am guilty of still pulling up an episode every now and then on my DVR when I’m bored.

Yes, unfortunately the ratings are steady and the show works within the miniscule budget so nothing will change.

In light of the Tristan Rogers tribute, it would have been nice had Beau Kayzer been recognised in some way after his death. Oh well, too late now.
