Well, I was not expecting Jacob's father to be so...manipulative.

Boo! at Doug and Vanessa. lol. But seriously...another near-miss. So I'm curious to see where this will go now that Doug knows about the bug.

I'm so glad to see Randy with his foine self. Wait, wait...was Randy at the casino one of the times Dani and Pamela was there? Hold up...is Randy in cahoots with Hayley?

Yesterday, I was about to post "Elon. Just so he pops up tomorrow." to be silly and then I decided against it. My jaw when I saw him on today's episode 😃

As we have all observed, just as there are posts saying there's no followup to xyz storyline -- then, boom, there it is, like magic.

Yep.

Let's face it, the writers dropped the ball with Hayley by not providing her point of view in the same manner as Bill and Dani.  This leads me to think that the show is leaning toward Bill/Dani as end game and Hayley is just a plot point/obstacle vs an actual character

Now you know I've been singing that song for a while now 😜 Hayley was always the weak link in Dani/Bill/Hayley since Dani and Bill got separate storylines while Hayley got...nada. So I was glad for her baby lie so I can properly love-to-hate versus the hate well dislike I had for her up to that lie.

Today's episode. Wow. Absolute perfection. We really saw some great performances. Malachi Malik was phenomenal as Elon. What a riveting performance. I was equally impressed by Jibre Hodges as Jacob. I really hope we meet more Hawthornes so we can see more of the family dynamic. I've never been an Ashley fan, but really enjoyed Jen Jacobs' performance today. I thought she really excelled, and the first time I saw the potential in the character. The Doug/Vanessa scenes were impressive, too. I hope we get to see their kids soon. And the Hayley/Randy twist. WTF? Now this is good soap.

After reading your post, I went back and watched the episode with Dani and Pamela at the casino (#54, May 16).  They interacted with the dealer and with Doug, but didn't see Randy there.   Perhaps Dani has encountered Doug with Randy at some point, perhaps at Orphey Gene's?  Nothing I remember.  I see that Randy was in 18 episodes from Feb-July.  I wonder if he interacted with Dani in any of them?  No time to go back and check.  But we know this will pop up again at some point -- Dani will eventually remember Randy from something.

Andre/Ashley do not have the passion and heat that Andre/Dani have.

Ashley has no heat nor chemistry with anyone 🥴

First of all, I have to say the show has improved a lot in terms of pacing, lighting, and direction. I’m seeing new camera angles, and there’s been a less suffocating use of the usual hangout sets like Orphey Gene’s and Uptown—which is definitely a step in the right direction.

I’m still not sure this story rotation model is really benefiting the stories themselves. Elon and Jacob are suddenly back to talking about Kenny’s death, but emotionally it fell flat to me. It feels like we’ve already moved past the point of being invested in that storyline.

What’s most frustrating to me is how the writers seem to struggle consistently with character motivations. Especially when it comes to plotting, they keep creating story holes, often completely unnecessary.

The latest example is the storyline around Hayley’s collapse.

Why did Randy have to invent a fake name? (These writers are obsessed with fake names!)

Why didn’t he take Hayley to the hospital—especially when we know she likely has an accomplice there? (Remember that female doctor we saw once?)

And then we suddenly see Hayley on the couch in her living room… Why would she let Naomi into the house right after a supposed miscarriage?

So many of these gaps could easily be avoided with more careful writing.

I assume Randy used a fake name in case Bill mentions it to Joey, since Randy is supposed to be out of town under threat from Joey.

When Bill arrived home, he said he went to the hospital but they told him she'd already left.  I don't know if Randy dropped her off and picked her up later (How much time has passed? ). Maybe Randy waited outside for Hayley to go in and get checked out and leave?  Or maybe the doctor accomplice claims that Hayley was there when she wasn't?  I agree that it's thin but I think we'll find out in pieces what actually happened.

The part about Naomi arriving at Bill & Hayley's house -- I'm not sure if Naomi let herself in, or if Hayley let her in via remote electronics unlocking the door.  It was odd.

Yeah, I don't think he was there at that episode for sure. But I'm pretty sure that Dani and Pamela had another scene where they mentioned that they went to the casino (off-screen) a few more times so perhaps Dani saw him then. Then there's also the fact of that one scene where Dani saw Doug alone at Uptown that never got followed up with. Perhaps Randy showed up. Given how close Doug and Randy, and how close Dani and Vanessa are, I (speculating) think it might be a case of her seeing him in passing. For now.

Randy did take Hayley to the hospital. Bill mentioined that he went there but she had already left. Im assuming he talked to the staff whom let hm know, otherwise he would have stayed there to look for her.

Hayley didnt let Naomi in. Naomi just walked in and surprised her. As his daughter, Bill likely gave her the entry code so that she could have access to him whenever she felt ready. She just waltzed in there the other day when she came to see him.  I have a code to my dad's current house and I've never lived there so I get it

I'm still pretty invested in the whole Kenny ordeal.  There are still a couple of corpses floating around, a pistol, a broken marriage, a host of moral/ethical dilemmas on the police force, a sarcastic casino gangster who seems to be a loose cannon, and a formidable lawyer who knows more than he's telling.  I doubt we've heard the last of Kenny & Company.
