Ted's definitely tricking Leslie.  He's concocted some round-about plan to keep her out of Fairmont Crest, after Lil Evie told him Thursday it would be best for Mama not to move there.  He looked off in the distance and said, "Nicole would appreciate it, too."

which is exactly why it was a brilliant decision on the part of mvj — opens up a lot of story. of course, back in the day, it would have been months of story. now i’m hoping for a least a couple of weeks.

thought i do wish that rather than leslie confronting nicole in the same episode, the audience could have had a bit of a chance to anticipate the reveal.

-- I hope you guys are right that Ted is tricking Leslie. If he's not, he's the dumbest man on the planet.

-- But if this is a trick, how exactly does that work? I don't see what the possible plan is.

-- Chelsea is back to one handcuff today. Nice that Allison gives her a break.

-- AA once again shows us he is the worst actor on daytime. I mean, the guy is Charity Rahmer on Passions level of bad. His line readings -- every one of them -- are so bad.

-- Fun week for the soap. The previews look good, except for seeing Joey make the moves to screw Vanessa again in the dusty backroom casino. I don't want to see that.

Phyllis on Y & R did a hit and run on Paul and Cricket (the Bug).. and that secret wasn't revealed for many years.   Occasionally she would be haunted by what she did, but the case remained unsolved and she was able to move about town on and off for years.

If Y & R could do that with Phyllis.. then I have faith that BTG can do that with Silk Press Sheila.   In fact, it would be interesting if the show plays it that people suspect she's the one, but can't prove it so they have to deal/live with her being in their lives.

I actually think Joey and Vanessa have heat. I just wish they'd find somewhere to fúck other than on the sideboard at Golden Corral.

Its obvious he's tricking Leslie. It was questionable when. he was first introduced it but it was clear by the end of the episode it was a ruse. Just yesterday he's talking about wanting his marriage to be healed bc he wants back with Nicole and today he's admitted defeat and is ready to proceed with the divorce? Yeah that doesnt track. Eva told him Leslie was looking to buy a house to antagonize the Duprees and wanted Ted to help stop her. Why would he then give her Nicole's home, which would further antagonize the Duprees?

He told Leslie that he's there for the same reason as Bill bc they are working together. By getting Leslie to remove her bid from the house, that stalls things and gives Bill more time to strategize a way to legally block her. Just like Vanessa putting in that 90 day clause. Everyone is distracted bc of Chelsea. Ted did what he felt needed to slow Leslie down from taking advantage o the situation to move in fast

The one-story focus certainly made this week tighter than most. I think RRM has proven she’s developed some real chops, and I loved the dream-sequence pep talks from different family members. That was inspired and very different from what we usually get from these types of stories. I like that they’ve positioned Chelsea as a problem solver and not some damsel in distress.

The actress who plays Allison? Meh. I’ve not once felt like Chelsea was in any real danger from her. Not once.

I’m not loving that all roads seem to go back to Joey Armstrong (not because I don’t like an umbrella story, but I’ve rarely loved the all-powerful Big Bad on any soap and JL is just flat to me in this role).

I love that ChelseaKat's glasses and plates are facing upwards. Perfect for collecting all the dust they could ever need.

Why did Allison's grandma have a bookshelf with a hanging pan, mugs and cake molds? In her bedroom, of all places!

Oh, and I haven't been able to screencap it but the Duprees have A CHAIR right in front of their silly little staircase...

The set choices continue to baffle me. For example, they gave Andre an apartment set, why not establish it's some luxury condo development downtown and Joey also lives there, redress the set to give Joey a bachelor pad? Or that awful bedroom that's our only representation of Jacob and Naomi's home could just as easily be redressed as a bedroom for Joey. And Doug and Vanessa are, I'd say, more important to the canvas than ASHLEY, why don't they have a home that we see?

I don't care about the McBrides' home (they do have a bedroom we've seen before, though) at the moment, at least not until Vanessa is hopefully shed of Doug. I do think Joey's casino def needs to be upgraded.

I absolutely have seen old folks do this.

To me, the one story focus actually limits the scope of the show.  If it were a 30 minute soap, I could understand doing one story focus episodes.. but an hour soap needs more then one story being focused on per episode.

And to me, having Chelsea be the focus falls flat because the show has done a horrible job in writing her character and also of showing the beats of the story that led to this hostage situation.   So I don't really care what happens to Chelsea because we haven't had any real focus on her character nor any development of her character outsides of being used by her domineering mother as a model/inflencer.

The only thing I hope this story will accomplish is making Chelsea finally start to figure out who she is beyond being Dani's attempt at a mini Dani.  Does she actually want to be an influencer, or is she doing it because of her family... and will Chelsea pull away from her family and Madison in order to process what happened to her.. and will Chelsea want to be out in the world... or take on a background role.

I'm hoping the fall out will be better then the build-up.
