I'm sorry, but am I putting two and two together correctly? Were they trying to imply that Andre 8 Dani's A???? She commented on what he did with his tongue, and he said she inspires him to do new things. Girl!!!

I want to like Ashley simply because I hate Dani so much, but it's not happening for me, and I feel like Andre is an idiot for being involved with either one of them. Ashley is bored with Derek because he wants the both of them to continue to be successful in their careers and build a life together? Just tell ya mama that you wanna be a heaux for a while, Ash.

Yesterday really set me in as a Martin/Smitty supporter. MM has really come into his own on this show, and I think he brings the best out of BC. I don't think Martin's offenses are grounds for a permanent split, but I think Smitty has the right to take all the time he needs. If they get back together, I look forward to seeing them in other modes.

Re: BTG other soaps. My only experience with the other soaps as of late is when I'm not quick to turn off Paramount Plus after BTG and it autoplays B&B or Y&R. Not gonna lie, I've been pulled in by both, but it's almost like they are crushed under the weight of thousands and thousands of episodes and decades of stories. In the big picture, I would say BTG is on par with soaps in the first decade of the 2000s.

On good days I can get behind that--  Certainly I haven't stuck with a daily US network soap for even more than a couple of months without missing an episode since... well the last days of AMC and OLTL, which says something even if I've dipped in and out of the other ones.

I really don't want Joey to have any ties to the canvas-- I want him gone ASAP.

Yeah, but he can take Ashley with him when he goes.

Having another long lost daughter plot with Ashley/Joey after Eva/Ted would be too much.

I still think the Vanessa/Joey/Doug plot feels disconnected from the rest of the show. Throwing Vanessa in a scene with Nicole or Dani every once in a while is not enough.

As I'v said before, maybe making Ashley and Smitty siblings or Vanessa and Jan sisters etc would have given those other charcters more connections

They've been explicit at the level of the Prospect Park soaps or further for some time now. I about lost it when Andre had this monologue to Dani a few months ago about (and I quote) 'being over you, under you, tasting you...'

Dave Chapelle What GIF

In the CBS daytime hour, no less!

I remember that. I was like "the grandmas must be clutching their pearls right now".

We're not getting rid of Joey, are we?

Yeah, I don't think so at all. He's already being set up to be the villain against the Duprees and branching out into other arenas.

That spread eagle though.

I think he probably used his tongue to deliver the goods on her front door rather than her back door. But anyway........Lol.

Thought the Ashley/Jan scenes were well acted, much needed and gave some more insight into motivations.

It would have been more effective if Jan had have been around listening/advising over the past few weeks, rather than dumping all this into one episode.

The same problem exists with Hayley- no one to interact with to explain her POV.

Derek seemed much more natural in his scenes with Jacob.

One issue I find from time to time is that the dialogue can be too try hard, with characters throwing around too many metaphors eg 'I was as angry as blah, blah... instead of just 'I was angry'

Too many smart lines can be overkill.

As for booty duty both the waiters at OG's and CC were serving. Both cute guys.

People tend to shower after their work out. We even saw the changing room sets when Kenny was homo-erotically threatening Martin post-workout.

That’s a problem I have with Jazmen as a scriptwriter. Not everyone speaks like a sassy gay man.

I wouldn't even say it's sassy gay man, but sometimes it sounds like forced poetic verse. I cringed the few times characters said "I love you something fierce." I was like what in the Maya Angelou is going on here. There have been more instances of characters speaking in ways that sound unnatural to the modern ear. Look we all love a memorable soap line, but those aren't forced. They happen at the right moment. A lot of times the dialogue seems to want to have a moment where it really should just move the story along. The first few weeks, I made a similar complaint where some of the dialogue seemed to be written for a novel not the screen. There are things that resonate while reading that sound ridiculous when spoken in regular day to day conversation. Interestingly, I do think it has gotten much better so I haven't noticed as much.

I think that goes back to yesterday or the other days's brief discussion over older writers in the breakdown/scriptwriting department versus younger writers.

I'm just glad to see YOUNGER in there. They can be trained. Perferably without loving what makes them...THEM.

The show needs to cast a younger straight guy to write dialogue because when the show writers conversations between straight men, it tends to be off the mark.   Case in point, the conversation between Jacob and Derek... no straight guy talks like they did.. and there is no way that Jacob wouldn't at least be on Derek's side somewhat instead of acting as if Naomi has his balls stored in their bedroom drawer.

I like Jazmen's scripts.. but sometimes they do tend to be more theatrical based vs being written for tv.

I agree with this. One huge advantage of BTG is that it’s a new soap: it can be nimble while the legacy soaps are pulling heavy cargo they’re unwilling or unable to offload. I wish BTG took even more advantage of this opportunity.

100 percent. They are shown too much to be so atomized.

From my perspective, I think that a man respecting his wife doesn't mean that she has his balls.  I really love that Jacob respects Naomi.
