We haven't seen Jan or Mona in forever.

I'm putting that out there in hopes they pop up next week, because that's usually what happens with this show haha.

Too bad Leslie had to go and ruin her relationship with the two of them. I used to like how they got together for breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever, and spewed gossip.

-- June paying the restaurant bill with Monopoly money was not cute or sweet. Is she that out of touch with reality? Maybe Naomi should be real with her instead of going along with all the craziness.

I have to second this. First, I was like where is June getting money? Then, I caught a glimpse of the money, and I thought it was international currency as many countries have colorful notes. I assumed this was going to be some indication that June isn't everything she says she is. Then, as I noticed the child-like drawings on the paper, I was like you got to be kidding me. What was the purpose of that? It makes June seem mentally unwell when everything else about her screams coherent and well aware of the reality around her. Where along the line would she think play money is acceptable form of payment? Like it's just ridiculous because it doesn't match how June is depicted. She's homeless and down on her luck, but she's not crazy.

I was watching the live broadcast, and I didn't notice that the "currency" was fake play money because I was looking at everyone's faces.  At first I wondered who was paying off June -- who is June really?  and why isn't Naomi reacting to June's new apparent wealth? Then I wondered if Naomi had found some special social services funding for June, hence Naomi not being surprised?  But even then, wouldn't Naomi protest June spending her funding on this?
I went to twitter to scan reactions to this scene and saw everyone saying that it was Monopoly money!   And then I commented here and quickly returned to watching the live broadcast.
I rewatched the scene later on Paramount Plus knowing what to watch for.

This is why I like the interactions online of group viewership, because I miss things on the first watching of the episodes.  I learn from other viewers what I missed, and then I rewatch.  Plus it's just fun to watch together online.

-- June's rudeness to others -- like the waitress -- isn't cute either. If writers want me to be on her side, stop writing her like she's either crazy or ignorant or vile.

I agree that June isn't stupid.  And unhoused people are not all mentally ill.
Naomi needs to ask someone (maybe Nicole) how to approach June to get June back to reality.   Nicole already met June at the hospital.

Edit to add:  I disagree that everything around June had previously shown coherency and awareness.

June's comment when hospitalized about her prior marriage which Nicole recognized as a character on another soap that Tunie was in -- that seemed out of touch with reality.  Unless June's been faking incoherency all this time, which I don't think she has.  I suppose one could have argued that June said that fake story about a prior marriage deliberately to maintain her anonymity, as an unhoused person who is distrustful of disclosing her truth to anyone.

I'm no expert on the homeless population.  But I think June's character is mighty close to becoming a stereotype.  If they intend to write the character as truly mentally ill, then that's okay, but her mental illness should be written seriously, diagnosed, and treated.  But if she is not mentally ill, then they need to quit "toying" with it, and write the character as a mentally healthy human being who has become homeless for an identifiable reason -- poverty caused by unemployment, domestic violence, some kind of exploitation, etc.  This show is far too smart to be writing her as a stereotype.

When it comes to June, if they're going to say she's suffering from a mental illness (which I don't think is unreasonable) they need to utilize Nicole to diagnose her. We've seen them interact once but that's it. I'd love to see Naomi meet with Nicole and ask if she can start working with June to see what is going on. Hopefully that is the purpose of the monopoly money.

I agree!

I don't think June is suffering from mental illness per se.   I think the Orphey Gene scene was June wanting to feel like she was contributing something and Naomi deciding to humor her instead of trying to make an awkward situation even worse.

I agree with the above that Nicole should be shown counseling June irregardless if June has mental health issues or not.

Agree with this. It's part of the reason I'm struggling with this June storyline. It feels like they're throwing in EVERYTHING ever said about ANY homeless person.

She has to be mentally ill if she thought what she did was contributing something.

The lack of interest I have in anything Dani does is off the chartsssss. Tired of listening to other people tell her she's gorgeous when we've seen so many narcissistic characteristics in her.

As much as a disappointment Kat has been for me, CM really comes off as a classic soap ingenue.
