Right, but is that the narrative we are to believe or are we supposed to actually think Andre is right in this situation?

If they decide to push the idea that Andre fell back on his f boy ways, because he got scared when he realized that it was serious when Dani is telling people and his Aunt Nicole called him out on his past behavior, then cool. However, it seems like the show really wants us to believe that Andre truly thinks Ashley is this magnificent and incredible woman. He has been infatuated since the birth in the elevator. But there is such a contrast between what he thinks is so amazing and what we as viewers have seen...she is a brat, she is emotionally dysregulated but so is Dani, and she is bland. We don't know what the writers have in store, but are they going to have Andre come to the same realization or are we really to believe Ashley is so great.

They need to drop that 5k deposit nonsense. A 5k deposit is not suspicious in 2025, especially from a professional with a decent paying job. DC cops with years in service, the level of experience as Malone, and senior positions bring in way more than 5k a month. Selling old cars or other valuable items could generate that money or passive streams of income. Yes, sure it was in cash, but it isn't something extremely concerning. If it was occurring multiple times then sure. Now, the 500k cash deposit is a red flag. I wish they had at least made the other deposit larger like 50k. Which police officer would risk their livelihood for 5k. That's nothing in the grand scheme of things. One thing if Joey said I can give you 100k now and 509k when you finish the job, but 5k?

I mean ever since Ashley said she and Derek broke up, Andre's antenna has been buzzing (and SF has been playing him as such)...not helped by his many attempts to not tell Ashley there is someone else and who it was. And those beats (as well as Dani coming out to the family as well as Andre knowing she was coming out to the family about their relationship) had been played on screen. If they had not, I might feel differently. But honestly, it just feels that since it has been established since Episode 1 that Andre always wanted Ashley, now that she's free, he's just wanting to pounce....Dani be darned.

I do find it interesting that it seems to be an almost even split whether we are supposed to think Andre is in the right. Okay, maybe not even split. The writing might make it seem like he's in the right, but the majority is looking at him like WTF...didn't you just tell Dani to go and tell her family about them...and SHE DID. It's giving whiplash.

Andre called out Dani on being jealous of seeing him with Ashley. He also reminded Dani that she pushed him away.

I was done when Dani said Ashley "makes vanilla looks spicy".

In the era of direct deposits and electronic transfers the writers are probably secure in writing big cash deposits as being suspicious. Cops and public workers of any kind receiving that much cash is a red flag.

Andre was giving player energy all the time but that got lost in him being helpful to Dani.

Joey and Vanessa are HOT AF. JL hasn't had this kind of chemistry with any woman since Lynn Herring

Wow...interesting that you feel that way, because I don't see it at all.

As for chemistry on the show, I do feel it with Dani and Bill, Naomi and Jacob to an extent (more so I believe they love and care for one another), and that's about it.

-- I get why the writers had Doug leave without Vanessa, but I'm not buying it. Doug has gotten somewhat of a backbone recently, and I don't think that works.

-- The heat between Vanessa and Joey is laughable. This guy -- who just went along with everything Vanessa wanted -- is a really bad mobster? GMAFB.

-- Randy thought $10k was enough to leave the country? My God....

-- I'm not understanding why Jacob and Smitty can't follow up on the $500k deposit from the sister's sale of the house. They can't follow up because she died? Huh? That doesn't erase the paperwork.

-- Jen going psycho? I'm down, but I see no signs they're going there. In fact, she still came across as Basic Stupid White Girl when Dani first sat down and started throwing digs. Wouldn't that have been the time to show a little pushback? A little psycho?

-- For me, the psycho in that scene was Dani, who just embarrassed herself. I have a hard time delighting in Dani's "spicy" line to Jen when she comes off as this desperate.

-- I know most posters here think Dani decimated Andre today and see Andre as the bad guy, but I just don't agree. What was Dani's goal? Why not just walk away from the guy if he's that bad?

-- The games Dani and Andre played were ridiculous, and Basic Ashley was clueless to not see what was going on. A girl going psycho wouldn't be that clueless.

-- Martin with that baseball bat? LOLOL Maybe he and Smitty should invest in a dead bolt for that front entrance. That place looks awfully easy to break into.

-- Mike Manning was great again today. Smitty and Martin have developed a nice chemistry.

-- The fades to commercials were so much better today. Hope that continues.

I agree with this. When I see Dani and Bill flashbacks, I think to myself how it makes no logical sense why they are not together.

Exactly. This is how they want us to view him.

Jon Lindstrom is awful, not believable at all as a big bad gangster and has absolutely no chemistry with anyone.

And sorry, I also have yet to see any improvement with Brandon Claybon. The way he recites lines and his movement choices feel very unnatural to me and as if he lacks confidence in what he’s doing.

I about choked on my bottle of water when pushing 40 year old Samantha complained about missing out on a sleepover. This girl continues to be totally jarring.

I think the lighting has also been adjusted. It’s a lot less bright and has a bit more depth.

Ewww. Vanessa is a nasty ho and Joey is just nasty period.

I don't know how old Lauren Buglioli is, but I'm guessing that she's somewhere between 35-40. We know Jon Lindstrom is 67 going on 68. The age difference is apparent.

Who knew Ashley would be the most secure person in a scene, but Dani has the ability to make everyone else seem more secure then they really are.   Unlike Dani... Ashley actually had to work for her career and managed to do so without having such a stellar last name as Dupree.

The only loser in that situation was Dani.

The age could be overlooked if the casting was right. There are plenty of older actors who could pull this off, but Lindstrom doesn't add the sexy or dangerous vibes needed for the character. That is no disrespect to the actor at all, but it is what it is.

I don't think it really has anything to do with who worked for what. Yesterday, Ashley was throwing shade at Shanice and Shanice has definitely worked harder than her. That said, Ashley definitely didn't read the situation because anyone with sense would have gotten up and left when another woman came in arguing with their date.
