So they're actually having a concert with the ladies. It reminds me of the old days of YR with the Danny concerts/performances.

Posting this here just because we're all curious what the musical style will be for The Articulettes reunion concert. (see the bolded).

From the PaleyCenter panel interview Feb. 28, 2025
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cELK5aAMc8
starting around 36 minutes in . . .

Tamara Tunie: She’s from the projects yes she grew up in the projects in Chicago, and she used her talents to lift her out of the projects.  She's a singer; and she and her girlfriends used to sing in the bathroom in high school, you know, and harmonized. And they performed in a talent show, and an agent spotted them and actually launched their careers.  And so she was with a very successful girl group called The Articulettes.

Interviewer Vladimir Duthiers:  Who came up with that name?

Tamara Tunie: Michele.

Sheila Ducksworth: It's a real group. Michele used to actually sing in a group called The Articulettes.

Interviewer Vladimir Duthiers  . . .

Sheila Ducksworth:  Yes it's real.

Tamara Tunie: So Michele definitely pulls from her own experience.
And so she [Anita] was with The Articulettes. And then, at a certain point, she left The Articulettes to pursue a solo career as a jazz artist.  So she shifted from pop R&B into jazz, and she had a very successful run there.  And at that time was when she met Vernon Dupree at a rally in Washington DC; and they fell in love and married, and then started a family. And so she chose to put her career on the side, and support his political aspirations, and raise their two daughters.  And she, you know, was an actor as well.  So she was a singer, she was an actor, she won some awards.

Take full advantage of the budget, but I'm hoping it isn't going to dominate the whole week.. and that other stories will be featured as well.

They're really wasting episode 100 on Ashley/Andre??? 🙄

That’s certainly a choice.

To be honest, a soap opera reaching 100 episodes isn't a milestone.. usually once a soap celebrates 500 or 1000 episodes is where it becomes a huge deal.

It's a milestone for a NEW soap, the first new black soap in 25 years

The 100th episode is a milestone and a cause for celebration, even though it's expected since daytime shows typically see at least one full season, with rare exceptions (see "The Revolution," which didn't get to 100 episodes - ditto online reboots of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live").

That said, there was a cake-cutting party for the 100th episode: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/04/beyond-the-gates-milestone-100th-episode

To your point, though, yes, when the show reaches episode 500, 1000, 2000, etc., that's when soaps typically celebrate their milestones en masse.
