Lol so you kill off a character with loads of potential that you just brought onto the show. Then you kill a legacy character whose family goes back to the very beginning of the show. JG is a f.ucking hack.

Speak of it. I just heard the second sentence pre-coffee and now I'm just livid. For the character and them FINALLY finding someone who can act (and looks great) to play him.

And the obvious killer, too?

JG gots to go.

I have really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for years but no more. He needs to go.

Same.

I’m so over JG at Y&R he’s basically becoming worse than each of our other notorious regimes with each passing day.

Killing off Chance to me signals how bad JG is as a writer.

Are we even sure he was talented in the first place? Asking @DRW50

I know he did some good work at OLTL with Malone in the mid '90s, but I can't remember anything beyond that. Having a young woman raped in the Horton living room and having the most prominent gay man on soaps murdered by a serial killer said it all for me.

As for Chance, this is just a huge waste. They never got Chance right, but there is no story reason to kill him. I wonder if this was already planned or if this is out of spite for the actor leaving to go to DAYS.

The show never stops strip-mining its past.

Will Tricia Cast even be back?

Wait, they've all been trapped in this Shining maze/estate for a month?? It's like the AMC dance contest!

@DRW50  Chance wasn't offed because of the move to DAYS.

Since Sony co-produces both soaps, I'm sure they engineered the switch.

The sad thing is Chance's death will have zero emotional impact on the current canvas. Jill isn't there, Billy barely had a relationship with him, Summer is gone. And, Abby/Devon did him dirty. It's complete waste.

Killing Chance is just stupid. Just because JG doesn’t know how to write for the character doesn’t mean he should have been killed off. What is even the point? Killing Damien was just as dumb although I really had no connection to his character as he just came on in February so that bothers me less, but still.

That is how I'm feeling. Praying for backlash.

Sharon was caring for the injured Nick in the traincar, <snip> Nick and Sharon kissed briefly.  I guess JG threw in one second of a Shick kiss -- with thoughts that people would want to watch the other 35 minutes of the horrors of this episode.  <snip> Nick was delirious from pain, so Josh Griffith might write the characters to be dismissive of the kiss later on.

7/28/2025:  Joshua Morrow on Shick.  (indicating nothing much)

It’s pretty dumb that it’s being written that Phyllis is still this huge obstacle for Nick & Sharon all these years later. Faith, Noah and even Summer being obstacles for them? Sure. That would make more sense.

Look at all the drama Nick, Adam, Victoria & Abby brought for the Nikki and Victor relationship over the years. I don’t get why the show isn’t tapping into that.
