They really haven't done much damage to any OLTL characters.

While a connection to Monica would be an interesting choice, considering the show has yet to acknowledge the death of the character or her real-life portrayer, the late Leslie Charleson, I would think the show is bringing Slezak back as Viki, considering Lulu works for The Banner.

It would be stupid to mention that detail only to have a look-alike of the person who runs/ran the fictional newspaper/website appear in Port Charles.

At first, I thought they might be bringing Erika on as a recast of Monica's cousin Lorena Sharpe. I might take a retcon sister over that just for more story potential.

Considering the head writer who wrote for them on General Hospital, I agree. Outside of killing Starr's little family, which could have happened on One Life to Live at some point had the show continued, they really didn't do too much damage to the characters in the general sense, IMO.

Plus that baby just dragged her down tbh. Those kind of deaths happened all the time back in the days of old soap opera crossover characters, the last being Vicky Hudson who of course was the latter-day star of AW. Frankly Natalie and Blair were lucky to survive (and I personally felt GH handled Blair pretty well).

I actually really liked Todd on GH before as well. He and Carly were a fun couple before ABC or whomever put a nix to using the One Life characters originally. Had he stayed Todd and not had to play Franco, I think people wouldn’t hate RH on GH so much. 
 

Super excited to see Erika again and hopefully as Vicki. What an actress.

I thought Roger and Laura had chemistry, I'll never deny that. I just think the pairing was a lazy rehash of Blair in the end. And the least interesting romantic option. Especially once Sean Kanan's A.J. came back for Laura, and tbh Roger also had interesting chemistry with Kelly Monaco.

I do think Todd worked on GH as a troublemaking journalist/businessman and at one point could've seen him (or him and Blair together post-OLTL 2013) recurring off and on like Marco Dane or Skye to come in and out of town and shake things up, but his time has passed post-MeToo.

i have been saying for years they should just bite the bullet and recast Monica, and I have been saying get Erica too. Hopefully, that's what this is. 

ETA: this also makes it very obvious they are gonna do a Willow D.I.D. storyline...
