I understand what Lois did. I can see everyone's side, even if I don't agree with them.  That  proves it's a good story

Olivia did have a good reason for what she did. Still, I'd think she would be slower to pass such harsh judgment on Lois since she knows what she herself lived through. I'm hoping we get a softer Olivia when she reflects on everything.

 

I'm going to disagree with this. I don't think the character has been ruined and trashed, and I don't think it's impossible to come back from this.

Yes, a great case can be made that this is out-of-character for Lois, but I can also make a case for people doing out-of-character things when life deals us crazy and impossible moments.

Because of the story we're getting from this, I think it was worth putting Lois into this situation.

To me it's two entirely different situations.  And Olivia has the right to be mad, but we ALL know Lois's BFF is not Olivia.

I enjoyed reading your perspective. I did shed a tear when Tracy showed Gio the broach and the photo of Edward and Lila.

I think the story in theory is good.  I don't believe Brook Lynn, Lois, and Dante are the right characters for this.  It becomes wild retcon on top of wild retcon.

We watched AL's Brook Lynn talk about losing her virginity to Diego.  Dante and BLQ had multiple conversations about them always being friends.  Dante told Lulu nothing ever happened between him and Brook Lynn.  We saw Cody and Brook Lynn meet on the show.  There was no indication they knew one another previously.  Brook Lynn faked an entire pregnancy for Maxie and wasn't triggered at all by her previous pregnancy?  Brook Lynn never once questioned Gio's existence and her family's obsessiveness over him?  I mean, that fact was added like a month ago, but c'mon, Brook Lynn's not that dumb.

Am I enjoying the fallout of this story? Yes, but you practically have to throw out everything you knew about Lois, BLQ, and Dante to make it work and that is annoying to me.

With Setton in the role we've already lost Brook Lynn's unique style, edge and her singing talent.  Brook Lynn's basically become an entirely different character and not in a good way.

Yes, I am sure not everyone remembers Brook Lynn's romance with the Text Message Killer or her foray into being a paid escort first by Carly and then by Nik.  Those two examples you cited are when Amanda was actually in the role and are relatively recent.

I never watched the prior Brook Lynn actresses, except for Briana Lane's brief stint.  So I'm primarily familiar with Amanda's Brook Lynn.

I did watch Lois and Ned decades ago when they first met and he was Eddie Maine.  I do remember Lois wanting honesty and feeling weird about Quartermaine nonsense.  I don't remember the details because I was watching it on live broadcast and it was so long ago, but I do remember in general what their characterizations were back then, (and that Wally was hot back then).

There were many years I didn't watch GH at all because I objected to the mobster stuff.  So I have missed a lot.

Mm-hmm; this is why the storyline, despite some standout performances, is an absolute mess. History of what we've seen played out is being ignored by the so-called historian "Elizabeth Korte" for their own storied history. Treating audiences like they're morons (well...) is not going to help your case.

It's crazy to me because Guza probably should have done this plot when they re-introduced AL's Brook in 2010.  Instead he went with the Dante/Brenda non-baby story so his two favorite toys could play together.

I would have bought that story back then, TBH.

Yeah I can't believe Rena returned for this, Even Brad didn't do this much of a hatchet job on Quinn in comparison to what GH did to Lois

But it's clear: they did not want that as the plot (Brook Lynn/Dante). This is a made-up plot to make the casting of Giovanni Mazza work.

The thing is I think Giovanni Mazza works on his own.  GH obviously had no initial plan for him, but he's likeable, cute, and charismatic.  He needed a story with Trina or Emma.  He didn't need to be related to everyone in town to make him work.
