I'm shocked, too! I really like her though the writing for Summer has been horrible the past year. She's basically been whiny and in Phyllis/Daniel's stories instead of her own. Pining for Kyle is ridiculous. I can understand her not wanting to continue it.

I think she'll do well elsewhere.

Well I’m sad about this. :(. The writing for her was shitty but she was fine in the role. I guess that’s really it for Kyle/Summer unless they recast?

Seems like they're going to do a potential retelling of the Lola/Summer triangle, but with Audra/Claire.

Yeah it's clear that JG loves Claire and has no use for Summer

I don't care for Summer but AL is very talented and made me tolerate Summer

She was never right for the part but hopefully they don't bring back that friend of JFP who became so "fillered" and "botoxed" it was hard to watch.  They wasted that actress who played the boy's mother, can't recall her name or name of the character. Didn't she go to jail. She was really good and reminded me of the early casting on Y&R, particularly the first Chris Brooks.

Noooo this is sad to read as AL’s hiring 3 years ago has been one of the few bright spots on the show.

Thudley #2 is a a complete moron; we never got an epic catfight between AL’s Summer and Audra.

AL breathed new life into Summer. Explains the past few weeks, particularly the odd break-up with Chance and why Audra was anointed the spoiler for Clare/Kyle out of the blue. Summer's presence would've taken care of that.

She was an okay placeholder recast IMO but I wouldn’t mind seeing Hunter King return.

I feel the same way about Annika Noelle and Kim Matula for Bold

King should never come back; she couldn't learn to act in the ten (too long) years she was in that role, and judging from her work in the Hallmark films she's done, she's yet to learn in the two-plus years she's been gone.

I completely disagree. I thought she had a lot of strong acting performances in her run and enjoyed her in the role.

Hunter King has been cast as a series regular in a potential spinoff of "The Neighborhood," which has a backdoor pilot in the season finale. Unless something changed in that regard, she's not looking for a return to Y&R, at least not this year.

Unfortunately, that spinoff was announced as "not moving forward" on April 22, but the backdoor pilot is still going to air, as planned.
