Y&R: April 2025 Discussion Thread

I've had it with the Amy Has Cancer story. They should have moved on from that by now, using it to propel future story. None of it is any longer interesting.

That's already old, too. No way would a guy starting a new company talk this much about someone who doesn't seem to be interested -- and who isn't qualified, either.

And Daniel? He's asking Tessa for guitar lessons. Are you f_ucking kidding me with this?

Ugh. That's what I worried about. I didn't think anything was wrong with the old set. I hope a massive change blows up in their faces.

The sets problem on Y&R isn't individual sets. It's that we see so few on a daily basis and characters are ridiculously forced to gather/meet in two restaurants and a damn coffee shop.

Le sigh. Same as B&B. The week started off pretty strong, and then ended on a whimper.

It was nice to see it was remembered that Diane and Michael are friends. And I enjoyed them butting heads.

Same for Amy and Lily. Still disappointed that we didn't get a scene of Amy with Traci. And it felt like someone was trying to pour salt in the wound with the dialogue. Still...good scenes.

-- Kyle left dinner at the GCAC and then went To Crimson Lights for a latte? Uh...OK. Of course, Audra left the Newman ranch to go to CL. What a mess this sets situation is.

-- Cole coughed in the last segment. Yeah, he's terminal. Amy's getting a miracle cure, but I have my doubts about Cole.

-- The re-do of the Abbott mansion is more than fine. I like it, and that includes the sofa that so many people are criticizing. I think it works in that space.

The archway into the main room is changed, but the essence of the old place is there, and that includes the front door. I did not want to see some huge change like the one done with the Chancellor mansion update. I call it a success.

-- I think they pushed out the walls at the tackhouse, too. It looks larger to me.

Thumbs down in the Abbott re-do. They've just switched out one dated fit out for another. Lots of clutter, dark wood and those hideous drapes in the dining room.

I get that it's an older house and should be decorated to suit but there is a happy medium that can bring in a more contemporary feel.

Yes, the tack house is widened. It looks like they removed a wall near the kitchen. You can now see a fridge and there’s a rectangular table.

I like the Abbott mansion updates minus some of the decor, namely the sofa and some of the other furniture pieces that are in pics floating around. The fireplace portrait is weird.

I think the curved arch works in the Abbott house. The ceiling and walls also seem higher. To me, this elevates the class of the set and creates an illusion that it is more spacious. I think the NuOld Newman Ranch has a similar feel.

I’m happy that changes to the Abbott mansion were subtle. It looks brighter and more open.  Overall I think it looks good. I don’t love all of the furniture choices but I’m a minimalist so my taste would not work in a “mansion”.
