I cannot believe the Natalia we got today. Has anyone at GH seen any of the Natalia / Eva LaRue criticism?

I've already said it would be difficult to redeem Natalia after her bigotry and homophobia over her daughter. For a time, it looked as if they'd just stop mentioning it.

And now? THEY'VE DOUBLED DOWN! I cannot believe what I saw on my screen today with Marco. The Natalia character is garbage.

I can't believe it either.  Instead of trying to soften the character Natalia just became worse.  She's mad her son became a lawyer?   When my sister passed the bar my family had like 4 different parties lol. 

Obviously, the underlying issue is that he is gay.  It is sort of hilarious that both Natalia's children are gay.  It's what that homophobic beyotch deserves lol

Natalia is certainly being written as someone who does not have long on this show.

Fine with me.  She's done nothing.  If they are trying to pair her with Sonny it's moving at a glacial pace.  She literally has no reason to be in PC except to make Sidwell a thing?  Whatever, I don't need 2025 Cyrus either.

I think if Maurice Benard wanted LaRue as a screen partner, we'd be seeing it by now. I don't think that's happening.

It can't be, unless FV is trying to slow his roll for awhile and play for Round 2 or something. (For example, I'll believe Valentin is gone for good when he's gone for five years.)

Last I checked, Sonny has not so much as kissed Natalia in over a year. That is DOA unless it's just in stasis. I did expect (and still do) that FV will try hard to put her over due by making her sympathetic via the evils of Cyrus 3.0/Sidwell, but I wouldn't be shocked if someone finally said to get ready to dump her. You can tell what he prioritizes, the same way he's dragged his feet heavily on Lucky and Liz re: screen time.

The Marco and Natalie scenes were cringeworthy. They couldn't end fast enough. It was the same rehash from before.

My aunt has four children: two boys and two girls. Her sons are gay, and one of her daughters is gay too. It runs in the family.

You would think Mo would be more into a big name soap star like LaRue as a pairing, but he's entirely checked out.  Maybe he's praying for a Vanessa return like I am everyday.

No kiss.  No nothing.  It doesn't even really feel like a romance is brewing.  Just that they like one another on a friendship level.  He has more heat with Rena (not at all asking for that pairing, just saying).

Marco, while filling a gap in an underrepresented demo, does not need to be tied to either Natalia or Sidwell.  I appreciate the addition of a gay contract character, but Marco isn’t the one.  We literally have Dr. Lucas Jones with his many ties to many classic GH characters on recurring.  Although portrayed by a less than stellar actor in VH, the character should be THE gay.  Marco/Eloi (are we sure they aren’t one and the same?) is nothing more than a justification for having ELR on the show.  If her existence was intended to be paired with MB, the creation of an entire family is overkill.  MB has just as much chemistry, dare I say more, with ADA Turner.

You see, I think this is still the writers trying to do damage control on that first impression they gave us of Natalia as a raging homophobe: "Naw, naw, the reason she can't accept her kids' homosexuality isn't because she's homophobic. It's because she's a controlling shrew who wants to micromanage every aspect of their lives. There, isn't that better?"

I think one of the problems with soaps is how often there even has to be A gay character, instead of just a number of gay characters. Lucas was often in that role in the '10s, but it never did him any favors (maybe because the show saw Brad as more fitting of the role?). Lucas probably still is a more important gay character to them than Marco, contract or not, but Marco is there to help support other characters we are meant to care about (his parents).

I do wonder if they want to redo the homophobia storyline and redeeming Natalia because the original version was cut short due to dumping Blaze in such a hurry.

I really enjoy VH as Lucas. His Lucas actually has a pulse in most scenes and is actually charming to me. It also helps that he has an easy chemistry with his costars. He doesn’t feel like a recast even though anytime his history is brought up it was obviously with mainly Ryan Carnes.

Yes, we absolutely ARE SURE that this is Eloi, only they have changed his name. And, I respectfully disagree because IMO Van Hansis is an excellent actor & plays gay Lucas exceptionally well! Already he is a new favorite to me. And, the pairing with Marco seems to be headed in the right direction, also. Plus, Marco, yesterday, grilling Natalia was almost as good as having Blaze back. Finally someone is holding Natalia to her crap. Sonny if course had immediately given her a pass & then recently Kristina seemed to do so also. I was like WHAT THE FRACK?!!! This woman is worse than Missy Reeves & that is saying quite a lot.
