What a difference a month makes. From being background or C story to really getting movement in the last week or so. Not to mention more kisses and some chemistry.

I agree. Of the main story introduced in the first week as the main story (the other ones being Dani/Bill/Hayley and Nicole/Ted/SilkPress), the story of Martin's secret has been a true slow burn. It was part of the reason that I was happy to see there was imagery when Martin thought about it this week. A sign that like the other two, it's about to have movement as well.

I cringe whenever we see (most of the) outdoor location establishing shots just because I truly hate those modern mansions (McMansions as my grandma calls them) and find them so ugly--and yet, of course, I fully believe that a community like this would be completely full of them.  But, unlike when they used to have establishing shots in the 80s of the rich character's houses on All My Children, say, they don't make me wish I ever lived there (don't get me wrong, I would happily take the wealth.)

(Yes, sorry--just a random thought while catching up today.)

Just a prediction; further down the road they’re definitely going to go there with Jacob and Hayley! I’m all for it and the ripple effects it will have, especially for Bill.

Naomi and Bill give me Victor Newman/Victoria vibes and I just love it.

Circling back to Naomi and Jacob I think Martins secret and it’s obvious public revelation is going to be what splits the two apart, especially if Jacob is forced to arrest Martin.

These episodes have been good because we don’t have Ashley and Derek weighing it down, and to a certain extent Andre being love struck with Ashley…zzzzz

Agree. Bill and Hayley's house is particularly awful. I think  some of the costuming also indicates that some of the characters think rich=flashy.

Hayley's costuming and decor for the house is like drag. It has to be deliberate, but it is tacky.

I think Bill and Hayley's nouveau riche aesthetic fits the characters. The only thing I don't like is how dark and cramped their living room is. The exterior shot shows lots of tall windows and high ceilings but the interior looks like a windowless one bedroom tenement. Even the foyer doesn't really match the living room.

I also like how Dani's house resembles a Disney castle with the turrets and drawbridge shaped entrance. It speaks to how the character sees herself.

I do think Jacob and Hayley have real chemistry, I just have yet to find him (or Naomi) very compelling. That's a couple you wanna start busting up to see if they work with others. Jacob's corrupt father is much more interesting, and I would like to see them introduce his family (no way is REG ever coming back to daytime, lol) which they clearly are working on. In part because the only non-related options on canvas are Derek and Tomas the synth!

And I just do not buy it when Bill asks 'where's my fire-breathing dragon of a wife?' and Hayley weepily replies 'right here

' lol. MG is a nice girl but I have yet to be convinced she can play Hayley as more than a doormat. I hope she surprises me in future. I'll save the rest of my 1 month report card for the end of the week.

I think it fits Hayley. I'm not convinced Bill would be into it, but I can totally buy him going with the glam home furnishings picked by a young wife half his age.

I do think the living room looks the size of a sorority house's, lol.

Loved yesterday's episode. Finally got the chance to watch it.

It fits Hayley and gives off the "I think this is what rich people do with their houses" type of vibes. Is it my favourite on this soap? No. But we've seen worse sets in daytime, and I am thankful there is some kind of depth/colour in there.

I cringe when I see the exterior... that looks like a museum... and then when you're in... it's like you are in a tacky 20 dollar prostitute dump. Iconic stuff.

Ooooo YES!!! And how well-timed since People just did an article on Heather Tom, her last appearance on Y&R, and of course the slap.

Same.
