I added onto my above post that Martin may have married young because of his political ambitions.

A trajectory all planned out.  Martin just said a couple of times in past two weeks that he wants something more (as if he's newly thinking about this) and now says he would like to run for president; but I suspect that's been his plan all along.    -- to run for president in 2032.

So by my theory/speculation, he is 28 years old now, and became a father at age 20-21  by adopting children who were already 7-8 years old at the time of the adoption.  That's the only way the timeline makes sense.

Smitty could be older than Martin.  Martin might have insisted on the marriage and family thing.

(but this is all *ONLY* my speculation)

Anita said in the first episode "a march on Washington in the 70s"

We should let go of what? Of our own opinions? Something that is personally mine and I'm not demanding anyone else share it...? Why? If someone is annoyed with my observation about the age-thing... then that's their problem. Not mine.

Also... it's just an observation. NO BIG freaking DEAL. Nobody is saying this is going to bury the show. Give us a break. IT'S absurd and FUNNY. I am now even wanting Anita to become a great-great-grandmother in the future.

Why not.

To make the conversation fun, I am imagining Nurse Shanice calculating "When was that child born?  When did they marry? How old is he really? questions, questions?  And (pause) .. Oh look at that cute doctor over there, I should greet him!"

I had hoped that looking at synopsis for this new week's schedule that it felt like this week would be more centered on Nicole and the B plot of Silk Press Sheila and Eva. So I was happy with yesterday's episode. Dani definitely needed a break from driving plot. And such a plausible excuse for her absence. It allowed the spotlight to shift to Nicole. And as my favorite character, I enjoyed everything I saw.

Her with her FOINE a$$ man and how much of a couple they are. Exploring the dynamic between her and Kat...loooong overdue. She even got some good scenes with Smitty which allowed to flesh out him and Martin.

Kat v Eva was THE highlight for me. And love how so many people here and online have mentioned how Kat seem Blair Waldorf/Hillary Banks coded. Cuz I have been living for her outfits. But this episode allowed to see more of her and her layers. She's been focused, but sweet. So seeing her claws come out a bit and suspicious of Eva has given her more to do. And Eva held her own. And if Ted IS the father, a sister feud is already on.

And as I mentioned yesterday, yes to Martin and Smitty being flirty and showing some hint of chemistry and dare I say it...love? It was nice to see their storyline fleshed out a little more. Martin is just coming across as a little too full of himself. Interestingly enough...not unlike his sister Kat. I do wonder if Martin is going to sabotage any attempt of Smitty to branch out. And we also have the issue of the dreams for them. But yay for conflict coming.

Oops. Not Silk Press Sheila maybe having a new problem to deal with in terms of potential cameras! Lol. I'm sure she got this. And oops again at Eva calling her out. So Silk Press really didn't tell Eva she was the one to run Laura off the road. So...potential for Eva to be redeemed once the truth comes out? And I hollered at Silk Press gaslighting Eva. She is next level...and I love it!!!

And you know what I also loved? DIEGO. From that head to that bod to what was in those sweats.  If we are going to have a himbo...he can be mine. lol. Meanwhile, it was nice to get a little more into what makes Vanessa tick since she's the early fave of the non-black characters. It seem like she would like her marriage to work, but Doug is hiding too much. So...she's looking elsewhere to feel special. And poor Doug...with a gambling issue. And as a doctor that's just trouble.

'Lady Karma is patient.' really stood out. Outside of the beginning, I really love the dialogue. And the episode really flowed for it to be just the B and C plots taking A plot's position. Special mention to seeing more of Jacob's life as well.

More please.

I love the show so far, and I know it's an American soap and ages will be inconsistent   and all, but Smitty talking about becoming an empty nester like Tom Bosley and Marion Ross is a latter-day Happy Days episode was a misstep.
