Trying to always be here with nitpick & technicalities, Ron's last day is Wed., 4-23. My countdown timer tells me that is 37 days away as of this very minute. I feel good about this because when I created this countdown timer/calendar it was 80+ days away.

To be fair, headwriters do not make all decisions. They sometimes get rather clear instructions from TPTB above them.

He has abs. That's about it.

Annie Wilkes still defending her Paul Sheldon, no matter what.

While I can believe that this is all Ron, and that Paula/Jean didn’t edit or rewrite anything, I’m still curious as to how this all came to be, especially after years of completely ignoring Sami’s rape.

So many questions are going through my mind about it.

Yeah.

But, it’s also pretty clear that Ron had a lot more authority than other head writers have had.

Come on now

Last week was great, except for Wednesday, with the reveal on Friday even making me cry. Having Lauren Koslow come in after Roman accidently dropped the bomb about EJ was a smart move to secure that the emotional stakes necessary were struck. Prior to this reveal, Carson Boatman was someone I had a contented like about as Johnny, but now I feel this story has solidified him as someone I can be truly invested. I had no idea he had it in him. It's nice to be surprised by this show, in a good way, in 2025. His scenes today with EJ made me cry again. The scenes were a bit longer than usual and more in depth. I find it very hard to believe the new writers didn't have some sort of hand in the writing dig deeper. This rape reveal has really lit a fire under the show's ass and I hope they can keep up the momentum, especially for Carson Boatman and Johnny. I've even liked the show more than BTG in the past week because of it.

happens, the only thing I'll know is upcoming story wise is John passing away. It'll be exciting to be basically completely spoiler free.

-- So are you blaming TPTB for the entire Body & Soul debacle? Sometimes TPTB should step in earlier.

-- Dan F and Carson Boatman were both really good today. Their scenes made the episode, and I agree the episode should have ended on them.

-- I'm sick of both Kristen and her mother. They can both go. I never liked this old Rachel casting.

I’m blanking here, I know of Alan and EJ, who’s the third?

Every now and then when I completely have written DAYS off as a complete mockery of soaps under Ron, we have scenes like today and Fridays episode.

Maybe

How long has Dan O’Connor’s name has been in the credits?

Arnold (Rafe2) raped (legally called rape by impersonation or rape by fraud).
EJ raped her again by facilitating Arnold to be in her bed.

In addition to all of that ... Sami herself is a rapist, she raped Austin

Someday I'd like to see Sami get therapy.  But I don't have high hopes for that getting written correctly.  And I'd hate to have it written poorly.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
