Sadly, no one.

Jackie Zeman had such a special spark about her, even as the last 20-25 years of the character didn't know how to use her. So hard to replace.

Sometimes I wonder if the grueling and confusing taping schedule makes that spark very difficult for younger actors to have, compared to some of the '80s or the '90s.

Gio and Emma

They were really sweet and dorky today and I liked that. I'm looking forward to seeing where the two of them go from here. And hopefully, they remain in Trina/Kai's orbit as well.

As for Charlotte, she's just as big of a pain in the ass I remember. Too bad she couldn't just go away with her toolbag father. We seriously dodged a bullet with that Jake/Charlotte pairing. And knowing Frank, possibly a Jake/Charlotte/Wyatt teen triangle.

They wrote letters. And in some cases, attacked them in public

I'm still not sure that she even has a heart

Giovanni Mazza has really come into his own as Gio, and it looks like GH did a good job taking their time with him. He's been really good. The stuff with Emma has been excellent, but GM has also been strong in scenes with Amanda Setton.

Eden McCoy has never been able to show warmth and sensitivity as Joss. She can't do it.

Yeah, that was my point.

That is certainly true.

I just wish & hope that Frank cares as much about his sets & his block taping schedule as he does for the real talent, his people, the actors, but also the support people & of course, also the crew. I worry about how much stress they are under.

Agreed.  I say kill off Chase and rid of that family once and for all.  I wouldn't mind a Brook Lynn/Dante/Lulu.

Amanda Setton was once again really good in Monday's episode - I think this should be her Emmy submission. Would love to see her get nominated for this episode.

I'm officially on the Gio/Emma train after today's episode.

Jackie really brought a passion to her and played Bobbie’s two sides of optimism and also cynicism really well. It is so interesting seeing her in 1978 episodes being really nasty to teenage Laura, and also bubbly and warm as a student nurse in the same episodes. It’s not a basic level schemer, Marland, Monty, and Jackie keep her rootable. I always liked her but I did take for granted just how good Jackie was as Bobbie. The hole in the heart of the show when both she and Genie were undervalued and gone in the 2000’s was noticeable.

Joss is no Bobbie, she has too much of her self-righteous mother in her. She is specifically a daughter of Laura Wright’s Carly.

GM has absolutely come into his own; that easy chemistry he began to display at the Q mansion through last year has blossomed further. I do think both he and Braedyn Bruner are really talented (the howls that Robin's daughter would never be a troublemaker fall on deaf ears for me), but I fear they'd both get blanded out stuck together romantically on FV's GH. I would keep them tight as friends and maybe more briefly, but instead play them around with a lot more people and let Gio go off the rails for awhile, and bring on new and more immediately vibrant and fleshed-out younger characters for each of them (and let Gio and Trina have that fling). You can always let Gio and Emma make a go of it for real later on if you choose, but why limit things so quickly?

This Alias Joss thing is for the birds. I'd let it implode along with Brennan and write Joss out for awhile. Eden works hard but I just can't do this anymore with this trajectory for the character. She needs a break no matter who is in the role when she returns as a lighter comic schemer, be it Eden or someone else.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
