Mike Manning is 37, turning 38 this year.

He doesn't look it.

Just came back from running errands while "Best of My Love" was blasting on my radio. 😂

And no, Errol, I didn't run through any stop signs. 😂😂😂

I love the level of establishing that is going on in this episode.

I also am loving how spacious the sets look. It's been a minute. s

ETA: Oh @Soapsuds @AbcNbc247 I see your man. Glasses look good on him.

This exchange between Vernon and Martin, where they kept referencing "Restless" in the dialogue had me chuckling, even if not intended:

Quote

Martin: What’s with the look?

Vernon: Oh, just wondering if everything’s okay.

Martin: What wouldn’t be?

Vernon: Things good at home?

Martin: Sure. Why do you ask?

Vernon: Something you said earlier that stuck with me. About wanting more. That could mean you’re restless. And restlessness can be a sign, a warning sign of trouble at home.

Martin: No, home is solid. Restless? You could say that.

Vernon: It’s not always a bad thing. Keeps you alert, ready for what’s next.

I dont like the casting of any of the white characters whom all do nothing for me right now. They could have done better than this short dork they have Martin married to

Hahaha. I so didn't catch that. Delicious. Just as good as the B&B shoutout.

Wait, are you talking about Mike Manning? Husband to the grandson Congress-person? They adopted 2 kids who are now 16, 17, etc.? IMO he is a good solid actor. I hated him as Charlie on DAYS but we were supposed to feel that way. He raped Allie & almost got away scott free while his brother was blamed.

I think he's quite good looking but then we know: not my type.

I don't like that they gave the gay couple teenage kids. That unnecessarily ages them when they look about 30 at best. Like how long they been together?

You're right, unless they adopted them as older Kids, who wouldn't so easily adopted by others

They are hinting that he feels subservient to his husband... in his establishing shot, he's carrying a laundry basket. It's a twist on the 60s and 70s soap wives who bemoaned the drudgery of homemaking and wanted careers.

One thing I really like is they're not afraid of sex & of physicality. Early in Episode 2 the black couple draped in sheets was so well done. It's been so long I'd forgotten how it could be.

Then, them again later & some more.
