I find her astonishingly boring. Frankly even the GH girls have more spark (especially since Willow began porking Drew). But I get why they didn't hire a major daytime vet, like Eden Riegel who I'd mentioned. Plus they seem to be going for a lot of new ATL talent. I just hope they recast (or dump both characters) unless she suddenly turns around and amazes me.

Ooooo that was vicious shade. lol. jk. I know what you mean.

I think, unlike those two, she is going to blossom. The fact she is a bland/boring character vs you can see her acting like she is a bland/boring character...as in see she's acting...I think she will be a dark horse once they attempt to give her something meaty.

Same. Because I didn't care for her in the first episode at all. But Episode 2, I felt she took a leap acting-wise though her character was still boring. And I guess it was down to the writing that I realized that I was invested...because who can't relate to starting a new job...one that you have really been working for, too. And in a hospital...I guess Grey's Anatomy, other medical shows, AND soaps have me trained...because we know drama will happen. It gave Ash some motivation to play with...which I felt JJ and the trainer did well. Mind you, I did like the trainer more.

The biggest problem with Ashley is that her storyline feels so disconnected from the Duprees and that has been the main focus of the first two episodes. I do think she benefited in episode two being away from Derek who is their Charity Rahmer. I'm not willing to write her off just yet. I liked her chemistry with Andre and I do see some potential.

I do think overall that it feels like they didn't put a ton of effort into casting these white roles. I don't know if it was a desire to hire fresh non-daytime talent or what but I find it really hard to believe this is the best they could find. The only real standout on this front is Lauren Buglioli. The rest feel like they were the cheapest option available.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
