Members All My Shadows
This is a great idea. I'm 30 minutes late for Y&R already, but I'll tune it in. It really is the little things.

Webmaster Errol Posted February 24 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 24 Please, for anyone who might be even a little bit disappointed in the first episode, remember it's day one, episode one. Exposition is necessary when establishing a new series, particularly with its first episode. In primetime, this is called a pilot. I URGE everyone who might be skeptical to at least give the show all five days before passing judgment or critique, both good and bad. For me, watching all the episodes as a binge/marathon had me thoroughly invested and waiting for what's next. If that's something you think might work for you, I highly suggest that method as well. Either way, don't call it a failure or trash it based on one episode. To be clear, I'm not saying the episode itself is bad. I'm just saying before you judge it give it a chance beyond episodes one, two, or even three.
Members BetterForgotten
Agreed, it bears repeating that a daytime soap is not primetime, film, or even a finished Broadway play. Things need time to simmer and build. You need some time to care about these characters and their dilemmas.
Members Liberty City
This is a great memo that should be pinned up, stickied, repeatedly circled back to, etc.
Members All My Shadows
I would hope that anyone posting here would know this already (key word being hope). It’s always been my understanding that, in soap world, the whole first week is considered the “pilot,” and the only fair review comes after Friday. This really is a momentous occasion bc I dusted off my very temperamental tabletop antenna so that I can not only watch this but watch it like it’s supposed to be watched, proper frame rate and all. It’ll be P+ from here on out, but for the premiere? Videotape, baby.

Members marceline
Yeah, I've already decided to just wait and watch the shows this weekend. That's just how I approach shows now.

Members Soapsuds
I'm doing the same thing. YR was so damn boring and just a video with background noise.
Members Vee
Let's all remember this thread is for our reactions to the show and not "here's what some random troll said on YouTube, much to consider in these deep meaningful thoughts!" Just getting that in before showtime.
Members BetterForgotten
Vivica A. Fox’s CarSheild commercial with Ice-T just showed on my CBS affiliate during B&B, lol. Fitting, in a way, since Vivica is responsible for introducing Sheila Ducksworth and Michele Val Jean. Ice-T being Tamara Tunie’s SUV co-star as well!
