Let's discuss who has lived where.

Who has lived in the most different homes, who has stayed put over the years, which homes have been lived in by multiple characters and who has missed out on a roof over their heads?

And which homes/apartments have been your favorites?

Y&R

Jack Abbott has pretty much lived at the Abbott home since we first met him in 1980. I guess he was living there at that time but apart from a bedroom/hallway, we didn't see that house until 82.

He lived above Gina's for several months (can't recall why exactly-was it after the truth came out about his ONS with Jill?) and spent a few years living with Nikki at the ranch.

Jill lived at the Foster home, then Chancellor estate for a while, the Brooks home when she wed Stuart, the Abbott home, her hotel suite after her first divorce from John, back at the Abbotts and from then on the Chancellor estate, where she still stays when visiting. Did I miss anywhere? Did she live with Keith Dennison at his house?

I think one of the oddest circumstances was Y&R's Brad Carlton, who kept moving into his wives' homes.  First he lived at the Abbot Mansion with Traci, later he moved to the Newman Ranch with Nikki, and then moved to the Rawlins home after he was with Cassandra.

Julie Williams on DAYS has some of the nicest homes.  Not in the correct order but, she lived at the Horton House, then she was in her home with the stove that blew up.  Then Bob Anderson's gorgeous mid-century place, and eventually she was first in the penthouse that Marlena moved into later. It is truly a shame that she's spending her golden years running a day care center for Chad's kids back at her grandmother's home, after years of cruise ships.

Brooke Logan always gives birth to her illegitimate spawns in the Big Bear cabin. That's all I can contribute to this topic... And I think it's a lot.

I think that was at Maggie's house.

Doug and Julie lived above Doug's Place/Doug's Place on the Lake, right?

Julie had an apartment that we see in the clip when they first kissed. Was this where she lived when married to Scott? Also she had an apartment after she and Doug split when he married Lee.

Can we have a complete rundown of Julie William's homes over the years?

Yes, the house set is still used, though it's mostly just the living room which is a shame. I think we saw the dining room when Marlena was last possessed which was nice. I guess we've seen some upstairs bedrooms over the years, but it's been ages since we saw the kitchen I believe and Tom's study of course hasn't been seen in decades.

For DAYS the obvious one is Marlena's old penthouse which was such a nice set. I prefer the new roomier DiMera house set, even if it just debuted without even a mention of remodeling.

The Webber house on GH housed Leslie, Rick, Laura, Amy, Mike, Blackie and later Ginny. Also Robert, Anna, and Robin, through Mac and Felicia’s girls.

Laura has lived in a crazy variety of places- the Vinning home, Webber house, Scotty’s apartment, Beecher’s Corner room, her own crappy waterfront apartment, the Haunted Star, the Cassadine compound, briefly the mayor’s mansion, Mariah’s Hacienda, various places all over the world, the house in Canada where Frank finds them, the old Ward house, Wyndemere, an asylum, and her current penthouse. That is a huge variety for one character, especially since she is off the show for like 20 years since her arrival.

Between the Webbers and Scorpios, Tony also lived there. I think Tonia died before she got to live there, but Tony lived there with Lucy. Once that marriage was done for good, Charlene lived there (or maybe Lucy shared the place with Charlene?). It was the site of Alan & Lucy's wedding.

Yup, you're right. Charlene blackmailed Lucy into living with her and Tony.

Colton might have eventually moved there. I know that he lived above Kelly's when he was introduced, and maybe lived with Felicia at the brownstone when they were a couple. I'm also thinking Decker probably moved in with Charlene at some point.

Now that I think about this, I hope that house was paid off. Can you imagine trying to figure out who's handling the mortgage?

And then Maxie burned it to the ground! One thing JFP never understood was people like to see those old sets. Just redress them, or rebuild and keep touchstones so longtime viewers know. I believe part of that set is now where Liz lives, which in-story is the renovated Brownstone.

Of all the soaps I watched over the years my favorite dwellings were the various places on GH, Y&R, and DAYS. They all did a good job having various sets that changed hands but had a sense of continuity and specificity so they were recognizable.

My favorite character residence of all time is the Penthouse on Edge of Night.

It had a private elevator (so chic), a spiral staircase (so impractical), a large terrace (so windy), and a signature sculptural fireplace (so textural).

First Margo lived there, then her daughter April moved in when her husband Draper was falsely accused of Margo's murder, and finally April gave it to her brother Miles when she moved to London.  It was so good that it was featured in the final scene of the soap.

The character residence that confused me the most was the Chandler Mansion on All My Children.  When it was first introduced it had this signature slopping staircase in the living room that was integral to the origin story of Adam and Stuart. But in later years, the staircase was moved for a totally unknown reason, and everyone began gathering in the library.  Yet, Courtland Manor was always consistent.

    • What's with this show constantly encouraging women to take back men who aren't worth a damn, then end up doing it lol. This was realistically a 4-episode week considering all the flashbacks to the showstopper can collectively form a 19-minute episode on its own.
    • Another episode uploaded. Love Chandler introduction.

    • Naomi was in Monday's episode, though the client wasn't. Naomi and Jacob were at Uptown with Chelsea, Allison, Derek, and Ashley. And what an amazing episode that was today. Tricia Mann-Grant was absolute perfection as was Ambyr Michelle. I cannot wait to see Dana mix it up with the Duprees, especially Anita.
    • This is me *pea green with envy* *sigh* The Reva vortex was like an F5 tornado. Widespread mayhem and damage.
    •  Yeah, I guess what easily comes to mind are guests who have taken advantage of a situation to reveal a secret (e.g. the mistress stopping a wedding to say that they're pregnant), or a host who planned an event to reveal things (like John Dixon's plan to humiliate Lisa at their engagement party on ATWT). But, that's a whole other level, where you can manipulate someone to throw a party in order to ruin it.
    • Not the community penis. Providing his service pro bono...I can't with his thirsty a**. Any chance that the OG Ted can come back as his brother back from the dead who died in the plane crash. It would give Andre family, too.
    • Now that Leslie has had her fun what is she hoping for now? If I were Ted I'd be on the prowl for a hitman. Take her OUT! The new Ted, known for playing vile characters, just might do that.
    • To be clear, I know there have been a gazillion reveals at events on soaps. But these are usually events that would happen anyhow, like a city commemoration or a long-planned wedding. My *specific* question:  Has a character ever orchestrated an event to occur, for a seemingly benevolent reason, but actually for the sole purpose of spilling a reveal at the party, to the surprise of the event planners/hosts. Specifically: an event that the event hosts wouldn't have thought of making happen, and the hosts planned this event -- only due to the seemingly-innocent urging of the outside instigator who is secretly planning the reveal. This is NOT about an event that would have happened anyways. My reason for asking:  April/May 2025, on BeyondTheGates, a couple was NOT planning a wedding anniversary party.  But there was a plot by an instigator to convince the couple to have the party, and the motivation for this was so that the instigator could do a big reveal. The party wouldn't have happened if the instigator hadn't suggested it. I'm wondering if this has ever happened before on a soap, that a big event came into existence due to the plotting of the revealers.

    • That photo is Andre is being respectfully kind to his cousin Eva, after the reveal.
