This is kind of promising. It's a clip from the day after Nikki and Victor's wedding (April 16, 1984). They always show their wedding (April 13, 1984) but to my knowledge, this is the first time they have shown an official clip from this episode, so it shows some willingness to open up their vaults a teensy bit:

Very promising... even if it's just clips, for now.

And in such a pristine quality. God if they release the episodes in this quality... I'll die happy.

Thanks @BoldRestless that's a nice treat.

This should have been done 10-15 years ago, but better late than never. I wonder if this is another Ed Scott decision.

Shortland Street has also been uploading episodes from their first few years, like B&B has. I know Y&R has music rights issues but I hope they will consider it.

B&B seems to not have issues with music rights from what I've seen, then again I'm sure that's something Brad Bell made sure of when they started sharing the episodes. I wonder if he paid for all of that, or something with the show's international market helped chipped in?

I will lose it if this happens. I will quit my job (my husband can afford it! lol) and just dedicate a few years to binging the show. 🤣

 That's a great plan!

P.S.: Is your husband single? I wanna do the same lol

If I recall correctly, they mentioned that YouTube is taking care of the music rights issue (with help of their algorithms...) and that for this reason it is easier to showcase episodes on YT than showing reruns or selling DVDs.

Yeah, YouTube automatically scans uploads for copyrighted material. If there is a copyrighted song, they will either ban your video, mute the song, or publish your video with the song and give royalties to the owners. This eliminates the need to research the music rights.

Tomorrow’s US episode is filled with old Nikki/Victor flashbacks and classic music cues for those of you interested.
