Fabulous. I can't wait to see the whole article.

I'm laughing my way through the comment sections in various message boards. Do people even realize how a soap is supposed to work? It's almost as if they want constant koolaid and to be pacified into easy watching. Daytime - as TG so aptly put it - is about bleeding all over the place. I think the constant nostalgic focus on the 80's and SuperCouples has dulled the viewership. The amazing part of daytime is enduring the "hair models" who see this as a stepping stone while embracing the truly gifted who can bring an incredible range to the screen from almost nothing, and do it quickly. This is not the place for Divas who have to build themselves into the moment. This is the place to truly look at the human condition and the ramification of actions.

I'm not invested into the characters who die - they're all fiction anyway. I'm here to watch the story in the hands of masters, and for too long we haven't gotten any of that. I now can't wait to see how this plays out.

So...

The other day the TV in my bedroom went completely haywire. The picture was crooked and there was a freakin rainbow across the screen. Being as I am, I wanted a new TV in my room! I always watch TV before bed...I just havent had time to get out to the store for a new one.

So, I happened to be in my attic a couple days ago looking at some old stuff, and came across the 13 inch Sylvania TV I bought way back in 1998. I didn't even remember that I had it, but I decided to bring it down to my room....Let me tell you, this thing is old enough to have a built in VHS player. A good 13 years old.

I plug it in...And not only does it work, it gets a better picture than the other TV I had in my room.

I find it funny and frustrating that the cheap little 13 inch tv I bought 13 years ago still works, while the super expensive LCD TV I bought in 2009...doesn't.

    • I have a feeling we won't truly be seeing their stories until the fall; right now, what they've inherited is the mess of the "writer", per their own admission.
    • This evil woman is really gonna frame Eva for Laura's attempted murder. Wow
    • I stopped watching Days for several months because the show was cartoonish and dumb as hell as written by Ron.  I starting watching again in March and I am happy to see improvements in the day to day scripts. However, Paula and Jeanne will need to start telling bold and intelligent stories to keep me watching.  Stephanie the romance novelist and Sarah's allergies aren't going to cut it for me. I'm sure Bo's return and John's death will be engaging and emotional but it will take strong long term stories to turn this show around. I really hope they can do it.
    • A partial episode from June 1985 was uploaded - I don't think it's been up before. You get Susan Marie Snyder's brief appearance. In a lengthy set piece where Rick is going undercover in some punk bar, he introduces himself to her. There's a surprising moment where when she says her name is Sam, he is thrown and is about to ask a very personal question before she further explains that it is short for Samantha. Grant Show is one of those guys who is classically very good looking, but I'm not sure how often I've ever actually felt attracted to him. This episode is an exception. He just looks hot as hell in what they put him in and how they do his hair and face. I can't say I go back to this period of the show very often, but I certainly am glad I watched this one.

    • I have no use for Derek but I was happy to see them exploring Naomi and Ashley's friendship again. More of that, please! I was stunned when Ashley asked Naomi about the Ted drama. We actually got a lot of interesting combos today. Tomas/Eva, Kat/Smitty, a rare Martin/Ted sighting and Vanessa/Nicole, among others. This was a good breather from all of the drama of the past few days. Because of pre-emptions I expected a random ending and not a proper cliffhanger but I literally jumped when I saw Leslie walk into Nicole's house! That was the perfect way to end things and along with the prevent, I'm excited to finally get back to a full 5 episodes next week!
    • I’m not going to take Dani seriously going off on Ted when she was willing to overlook all of Bill’s affairs in her own marriage and only got her feelings hurt when her ass was left. Absolutely hate that she’s getting a dedicated showcase scene like that - I think this is where MVJ’s personal friendship with Karla Mosley removes objectivity when writing for Dani as a character sometimes.
    • @slick jones An episode (maybe the only episode?) of Susan Marie Snyder's Ryan's Hope stint has popped up. June 1985. Her character's name is Samantha. I'll post the video in the show's thread.
    • Damn, Leslie is going to make Eva take the fall for Laura's accident!
    • Queen Leslie did look good barging in there though, lol
