OMG! The Talk was an absolute FAILURE!

Someone just shared with me how repeats of The Price is Right did in the 2:00 p.m. ET slot and it had roughly +500,000 viewers more than The Talk had at its best during the show's 15th and final season. I'm talking about encores of TPIR doing 1.6-1.7 million viewers!

Just F'ing WOW! Thank God CBS has a replacement in the wings with Beyond the Gates, otherwise, they'd continue losing tons of money just sitting there waiting to be taken.

And still, the irony of a soap being cancelled for a talk show, only for that talk show to be cancelled for a soap is not lost on me.

So that's positive, right? It shows the potential audience for BTG is there. Errol, do you think CBS will be happy as long as BTG beats The Talk's numbers, or would they be looking for them to beat the TPIR reruns, too?

If they're going to do cameos and special guest stars, I'ma need them to step it up above entertainment news show hosts that are already on the CBS Daytime payroll (be it syndicated or whatnot). Hell, the Grande Dame Karen Huger from Real Housewives of Potomac will create bigger buzz. ET hosts and Sheryl give literally zero incentive for a curious viewer.

Victoria Rowell is the one where I wonder if she is still off-limits to CBS, not just Sony.
