Airing just four episodes since premiering after the Super Bowl last month, CBS has given an early second season renewal to “Tracker,” which has emerged to become this season’s most-watched new series and the most-watched new series overall since the series debut of “Young Sheldon.”

When factoring in Nielsen’s Most Current Data (including Live+7), on average, 16 million viewers are tuning in for each episode, making “Tracker” the most-watched new drama since the 2014-2015 season debut of FOX’s “Empire” (17.33 million) and the most-watched new show since “Young Sheldon” (16.49 million) during the 2017-2018 broadcast television season. On streaming, the series was the no.1 show on Paramount in February.

“‘Tracker’ kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

According to Nielsen, 30 million multiplatform viewers have now watched the first episode, including the Thursday, February 15 rebroadcast. On Sunday, March 3, the show’s fourth episode ranked a solid no.1 among all television shows. It was primetime’s most-watched program with 7.44 million viewers, up +8% compared to week three, marking the third consecutive week in which the series grew among Total Viewers. The show also posted its largest audience of the season in its regular time slot and improved it by 83% year-over-year.

Starring Justin Hartley (“The Young and the Restless,” “Passions”) as Colter Shaw, “Tracker” follows a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family. The series is based on the bestselling novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver.

Justin Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid and Ben Winters serve as executive producers.

Check out a sneak peek at the next all-new episode of “Tracker,” airing Sunday, March 17 on CBS – the show is preempted on Sunday, March 10 due to ABC’s airing of the Oscars.

“Tracker” airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+.
