DAYS: February 2024 Discussion Thread

I agree that Corday was right to sue her. He has a soft spot for her which is why he brought her back a few years later.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Scott Reeves was controlling her career at that point. He was on Y&R at the time and I suspect he wanted her on B&B since it films at the same studio, thus allowing him to keep an eye on him.

Days actually tried to bring her back sooner than 2000. Matt Ashford was approached to return but it was squashed when Missy declined to return (this comes from a fan who heard it from Matt at a fan event). If Missy hadn’t returned in 2000 we never would have gotten Matt back, and he’s my favourite Days actor.

I agree with you both.

For sure, if DAYS survives past this, I think many actors will think twice before agreeing to join or rejoin the cast, which, IMO, will shrink their talent pool even further.

It's being posted that Annalynne McCord is going to be the recast Nicole. But a quick google shows that she has been hired to play a character named Marin. She is gorgeous though and does have a "Nicole" look to her. No idea what is true or not.

Ari IS Nicole. I've only been watching for about 12 years, but she has been one of my faves on this show. Hate to see her leave.

Hey, we got a Black Patch set!

I do like John and Steve scenes. They do work well together, despite the occasional hammy acting. And I think I might actually like this storyline a little bit if it made more sense. And if Konstantin wasn’t an annoying pain in the ass. It should been tied to Stefano somehow instead of just Victor.

Sloan was a raging bitch today, but I don’t mind it. I like that there’s an added dynamic to that storyline. IMO, adding more to the storyline makes it more unpredictable and that’s always a good thing. I wonder if Ron was planning on writing it this way. I’m curious to see how everything is going to play out.

I’m also interested in Tate’s angry letter to Brady. I wish we had seen it. It could lead to something really good happening once Tate comes back. It adds more notes and dynamic to this storyline as well.

And, even though we’ve known about it for months now, I’m still not prepared for tomorrow’s episode. And Monday’s too.

As for what’s happening offscreen, I just hope everything works out for everyone involved.

No, that's not being posted. It began with people saying 'I wonder if Annalynne McCord is a Nicole recast' which quickly morphs into 'there's a rumor that Annalynne McCord is a Nicole recast!' and then finally to 'look, she has the same blonde hair she's always had! Definitely a Nicole recast!'

I thought it was an interesting DAYS today. I was into Steve & John & learned, not surprised, that John shouldn't have met with K alone. I continue to be fascinated at Theresa. Sloan was predictable. I'm not sure why but I don't like Steph & Everett. Nearly fell over when she mentioned a Pulitzer.

I haven't seen any spoilers, so it's about to happen?

And, about the lawsuit, I fully expected this to happen & I even thought it might be Ari because of how outspoken she was during the fan campaign. I won't be surprised if someone else takes action, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Martha Madison sued.  She allegedly seemed to be one of the worst affected by Alarr.

Anyhow, I don't think there is any evidence Annalynne McCord is a recast anyone lol.  JS may not be the best actress, but I think she does a good job as Sloan-no need to recast.  And I doubt the show would recast Nicole at this point.  I don't think it would be very good optics to replace AZ with an actress several years younger than her while she's suing lol.

    • Yeah, Martin really did make me laugh when him and Smitty jumped up to drag Leslie out. I am interested in seeing how this fallout will impact his storyline as well. Especially since he is so protective regarding his family/family's image. I am interested in seeing how he will interact with Eva for the time being, they did have a warmer interaction earlier on once they met. But he seems to have doubts about her possibly being Ted's right now. I wonder how long it might take for him to come around with her. I could see the younger generation warming up to her quicker than the older ones. Though of course I think there will be anger/tension for a while regarding the reveal and her role in it. Perhaps Naomi/Chelsea will ease up on Eva first then eventually Martin/Kat might down the line. I really do love Nicole. I'm glad that DD is playing her. She really is the heart of the family and also agree the show. She is so easy to root for and I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out for her. I am enjoying the development of most of the characters on this show. I enjoy most of them including Bill with his trifling self lol. I do feel that Bill's love for his daughters is genuine and that gives him some depth. A few of the characters I don't care for that much (like Bill, Ashley, Vanessa). I wasn't too big on Andre at first, but I am warming up more to him as the actor is settling into the role. I like most of the characters on this show. Also, I am interested in seeing what happens if Eva indeed goes and lives with the new doctor that was introduced. I could see this adding another layer to her story, maybe she will become more vixen-ish, on what type of relationship they end up having. And/or maybe she will end up becoming more hardened as she deals with being an outcast, especially if she falls out with Leslie as well. I think that AM will do a good job of showcasing the different layers of this character as she deals with the fallout of the affair/paternity reveal.

Got another sad news from the Bahamian community (not a celebrity)  https://www.instagram.com/p/DJMSrYCgyes/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Former Bahamian Senate President J Henry Bostwick, Husband of former 1st Bahamian Female Cabinet Minister Dame Janet Bostwick is dead yesterday on his 86th birthday.    Thanks and for those who've aren't familiar with the talk shows in The Bahamas on this thread here, his talk show named The Freedom March with Dr Rodney Moncur that airs on ILTV and The Beat 103.5 FM Nassau every weekday afternoons. IIRC, he suffered a illness before he died.  Here's the link for his final taping of the show before his death: https://ewnews.com/this-is-powerful-rodney-moncurs-final-sign-off/

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
